Been coming to Dave’s Dogs since around 2015 or 2016, back when they were still just a hot dog cart out on Milpas during my college days. My friend Chandler told me this was the late-night move, and man... that first time changed the game. Not only was the food fire, but I got to know Dave personally, and he’s been solid since day one. Just a good dude who pours everything into what he does. You could feel it even when it was just him working the cart. I’ve probably had every dog on the menu at this point, no shame. Back in the day, the Santa Barbara Dog and El Niño Dog were my go-to. Heavy hitters. That mix of flavor, sauce, and crunch? Just unbeatable for a late-night bite. Fast forward to now, and Dave’s got a full-on shop, crazy menu, full setup, and the food is still just as good, if not better. This time I kept it classic with the sauerkraut dog and chili cheese dog, and bro... come on. They still hit like day one. Sauerkraut had that perfect tang, chili was meaty and rich without being messy, and the buns were soft and toasted just right. I also had the patty melt, and that thing was absolutely bonkers. Like, gone in four bites type of good. Cheese melted right, onions grilled up perfectly, the whole thing was just balanced and rich. Easily one of the best items on the menu. Tried the burger too and yeah... amazing. Simple, juicy, full of flavor. No fluff. And of course, the tater tots and fries are must-haves. Crispy, hot, and seasoned right. Great sides to round it out. Also gotta shout out the horchata. I’m pretty sure it’s house-made and you can taste it. Creamy, sweet but not too sweet, and refreshing enough to cool down from all the savory heat. It’s honestly crazy to see the growth. From a cart on the street to a full-blown Santa Barbara staple. But knowing Dave and the way he works, it makes sense. He earned all of it. This is a local business worth supporting, not just because the food’s amazing, but because the heart behind it is real. If you have not been to Dave’s Dogs yet, you’re missing out. Pull up, order whatever sounds good, and enjoy. You literally...

If you're in Santa Barbara and craving a delicious, satisfying meal, Dave's Dogs is the place to go! This hot dog restaurant offers an exceptional experience that goes beyond your typical hot dog stand. From the moment I walked up to the vibrant and fun establishment, I knew I was in for a treat.

Dave’s Dogs is all about creativity and flavor. The menu features an impressive variety of gourmet hot dogs that cater to every taste. Whether you prefer a classic dog with mustard and ketchup or want to venture out with one of their signature creations, you won’t be disappointed. I tried the "Dave’s Special," loaded with chili, cheese, and crispy onions, and it was absolutely mouthwatering. The hot dogs are perfectly cooked, with a nice snap to the casing and a juicy, flavorful interior.

What really sets Dave's Dogs apart is the quality of their ingredients. The buns are soft and fresh, and they offer a range of toppings that are both innovative and delicious. Each bite is a burst of flavor, and it's clear that they take pride in the food they serve.

The atmosphere at Dave's Dogs is casual and inviting, making it the perfect spot to grab a quick bite with friends or family. The staff are friendly and efficient, and they really make you feel welcome. The portions are generous, and the prices are very reasonable, especially considering the quality and creativity of the food.

Dave’s Dogs also has a great selection of sides and drinks to round out your meal. I recommend the loaded fries, which are just as flavorful and satisfying as the hot dogs themselves.

Overall, Dave’s Dogs is a standout in Santa Barbara’s food scene. Whether you're a local or just visiting, this place is a must-visit. The combination of high-quality ingredients, creative menu options, and a fun atmosphere makes it a spot I'll be returning to...

Horrible service. Food takes forever to be made, rude employees. And if you call ahead to order for pick up they won’t make your food until you get there and pay, this defeats the while point of ordering ahead to skip the line. Edit: after i left a complaint and a question as to why i cant order over the phone, have my food made, pay & pick up at the same time, management left a very rude and condescending answer to my comments. They basically asked why i feel entitled to “skipping the line” as in skip every body in line and get my food when i get there. I never asked to skip the line, what i wanted was my order to be made and ready for pay & pickup like at any other normal restaurant, as in after I pay, I WILL NOT have to wait around for another half hour for my order to be made. This is the last straw and I will personally never get food from this place again. Food is always made incorrectly, entire staff (employees and management) is VERY RUDE, not to mention it’s borderline expensive. I’d rather spend my $ somewhere else and get the treatment a paying customer deserve. Edit2: lol owner finally wants to sound reasonable on the platform everybody can see but answer so rude on the direct message that was sent to me. Nobody came in the store screaming, granted I was upset coming in the store to order as the employee were super rude to my boyfriend on the phone saying if he cant pay they aint gonna make the order, when all he wanted was to be able to pay in store. They really want to flip the switch and blame anybody but themselves. The behaviour of this owner and the entire staff is DISGUSTING and should not be...

Ordered the Dave's style dog, an order of traditional wings and tater tots. I got my Dave's style dog with a hot link. The hot dog was ok, nothing exceptional tasted like something I could make at home. Maybe if i had gotten one of the more complicated or specialty dogs I would have been more impressed. The tater tots were really good, very hot and crispy when I got them. The wings were also hot and crispy. I got the spicier flavor and the mild flavor. I thought the spicier flavor was the better of the two. It's hard to find good wings in sb and I would definitely come back if I was craving some wings. Update:5->3.5star 10/9/19 Placed an online order for pickup since I have a 30min lunch. I arrived and checked in 5 minutes before the pickup time and the worker at the counter told me they didn't have an order for me, I showed them my online confirmation and they scrolled on their orders and finally found mine. I then had to wait an additional 25 minutes before my order came out. The worker that brought me my order told me they put some extra wings in my order and that I could pick a drink from the fridge free of charge but I didn't chose not to. The food was still good and I appreciate them trying to make up for their mistake but I wasn't even able to eat lunch because it took so long. I had placed the order online ahead of time because I knew wings would take longer to cook and I wanted it to be ready for pickup. I really love Dave's Dogs but it will probably be a long time until I eat here since this experience left a negative impression.

I was driving back to LA from SF, decided on the scenic route (PCH) so a 6 hour trip turns into a 13 hour trip. By the time Santa Barbara comes into view, it already feels like I'm home. I was looking for something delicious or at least different than a fast food joint, I found this little gem while loading gas for the last stretch of my trip. It didn't seem exciting, I mean hot dogs, but at least they closed late and the reviews were pretty good. Wow! This place will blow you away! Im not driving 100 miles just to eat there, but I'll definitely make a stop there if I'm on the area or passing by! I ordered the Santa Barabara just to see what the locals like, it was so good I ordered a second one, El Niño! Both of them were delicious and surpassed my expectations. The restroom is inside the kitchen, you gotta exit the restaurant and then they open a back door to let you in.
