Del Taco — Restaurant in California

I got the Tuesday taco special, and all of my taco shells came broke and they were half full they did not fill them up with food I'm not sure if it's because I'm white or if the employees were just being lazy but I felt kind of uncomfortable and I did decide to eat inside and I'm very happy that I did because if I did not I would have drove away with half filled tacos and broken tacos, so I asked the young man in the back to make me another one when I found the first one and he did no problem then I found two more that had almost nothing in them and he redid those both for me and brought those to me, I was also talking to a police officer that was there getting his food and he said he has to check his food all the time because people spit in his food and that is why he goes inside the order so he can check it while he's there. It's a shame that we can't eat some place and feel safe, I was looking at another gentleman's tacos and his were all full and he was a Latino so I'm suspecting that because I'm white they did that, what they didn't realize is that I'm fluent in Spanish, so I asked them for very politely in Spanish to redo my tacos, that kind of surprised them and they begin to be more respectful to me but I could tell that they didn't like me because I was white, it's very disappointing to go to into a restaurant and order food and Phil uncomfortable because you're white, I hope the management can...

BIG SHOUT OUT TO WIGGIE STACKS! Went through the drive-thru and he was very sweet and polite! Got our meals (2x small #4s) and they were STACKED. The crispy chicken quesa-tacos looked better than the promo photos and tasted AMAZING! They had the perfect amount of toppings which were evenly spread, which some Del’s really struggle with for some reason… .

The food here is always good, but I cannot tell you how many times they have forgotten to put something in our bag that we have ordered. Countless times I have had to drive all the way back to Del Taco, after getting all the way home and realizing that we're missing part of our order. So that end of things is messed up. But as far as the food goes we've only had 2 complaints with our order not being what we ordered. We have had a few of the staff that work the windows and a manager be very rude. The staff that used to work there a few months ago was a lot nicer than most of the ones that are there now. They were just friendlier. I don't know what happened that they changed all their staff, but the new staff isn't as friendly. But the food is good, my kids like it. Their favorite is the caramel cheesecake bites.
