Happy Time Mediterranean Restaurant — Restaurant in California

Customer service is meh. The first time I went it, was my first time. Didn't really feel welcomed at all by the teenager at the register and her father who I am assuming is the owner, they both looked at me like I was lost. It took close to 40 minutes for small platter. Food was good the first time. I went in last night and again, I get the same sour look and attitude by the teen and her father. I order the platter which has gone up by $5 in just a week. This time the food was terrible and more expensive, really? I waited an hour for my platter, the rice was dry, the lettuce for my salad was yellow and wilted. and i was given chicken rolls instead of the beek, I'm guessing because its cheaper for them, chicken chop was also blah..not impressed at all. Very upset at the lack of customer appreciation which is enough for me to never return. I would rather support other local businesses who give off a more welcoming vibe. Also, I noticed the people who are of the same ethnicity as the owner were served right away but I had to wait an excessive and ridiculous amount of time. Never again, luckily there are other places in San Diego with fresh food and no discrimination...

I may be a blonde white girl, but I IDENTIFY as Middle Eastern when I eat my Mediterranean food!! I'm kind of a connoisseur! It's my favorite food, I have my favorite restaurants as my go-to's when I'm craving the delights, and I love a good value! All that said, Happy Time Mediterranean is my new favorite place! The hummus, so creamy it melts in your mouth. The baba ganoush, oi! The delicate balance of smoky and smooth! The falafel, freshly prepared and hot like it should be. The salads are wonderful, the shwarma, so seasony!! And incredible value!!!! I also got the mint lemonade and it comes blended in a tall glass and you get to sweeten it yourself your preferences. Fun! They also honor their word here! There was a promotion going on and it appeared that one item was accidentally included in by mistake. The owner honored it and we saved over $20.00!!!! They will treat you right here, the food is awesome, good value no matter what, and the ambience is stunning! This place is now at the top of my list and I'll be bringing friends and family here too any chance we get. They also deliver!!! Definitely joining GrubHub for them! Hope...

This afternoon my Arabic friend said, let me show u where to go for good Mediterranean food. We ended here. It's a darling place. The owner is such a gentleman. The food was amazing!!

For those who read my posts, u know I'm not a big meat eater. But this place is exactly why I would never be a vegetarian. These people know how to cook! The dish that was ordered was a Fiesta size combination of a variety of dishes. I dont know the names of them all but i know one was called Chicken Shwarma, and there was chicken and beef kobab (not exactly sure what it was called).

We also ordered French fries... um not the kind from McD. The real kind. And for dessert Baklava. The meat was so flavorful! Amazing tantalizing taste and wildly delish!!! 😝😝😝Also the Lentil soup and the hummus was to die for!!! I could eat that hummus for days and days.😋😋😋😋😋

I'm definitely taking my family here to eat!!! It's a Happy Time at Happy Time. 4 people ate with extra to take home!

Update 6/18/22 took my hubby and sister here to enjoy. So yummy. What a wonderful treat to come here and bring lots of leftovers for my children! They scared it all up....
