My office is in downtown Walnut Creek and I decided to take a break from the overpriced, underwhelming, $20 lunches that come with a side of poor service and go for a little five minute drive, where I found Morucci’s. They offer a large menu of sandwiches and salads, and because it was difficult to narrow it down. I decided to start at the top and go with the #1 one Italian sub. It was really incredible! Rather than add on the suggested mustard or pesto, I asked for an unconventional ingredient to be added to an Italian sandwich (Mayo) and I was grateful that they didn’t (outwardly) judge me for my choice, because combined with the Italian dressing it was the perfect creamy, tangy combo. There’s a lovely outdoor shaded eating area where I was able to enjoy my sandwich. I will absolutely be back very soon. I’m hoping to work my way down the menu, but that Italian sub is going to be tough to beat. More Morucci’s, please!

This was like someone took out a professional hit on a sammich. The top left of the menu does say what each sandwich comes with, and is then followed up by parenthesis stating that sprouts are an OPTIONAL addition. Which means one must ask for them. I very much DID NOT ask for cold soggy sweaty-gym-sock-smelling sprouts on a HOT REUBEN sammich. I promise I am not taking this personally because it’s my name. That combo is just FEH. I totally get someone could’ve just made an honest mistake one time, but this was my first impression/first time ordering after everyone in my neighborhood was chatting-up how great the sammies are. Maybe I’ll try again another time but right now I’m just irate. Prolly a bit hangry too.

Found this mom & pop Italian Deli close to where I was in Walnut Creek. Wanted to eat a deli sandwich for lunch. Ordered the CA Club #5 on the menu. There was barely a line and the sandwich was made relatively quickly. Service was very good. This place reminded me of one of my childhood favorite Italian Deli’s in SSF, Little Lucca. The sandwich was good with fresh ingredients. Just wish I asked for some secret pesto spread. Cannot complain though and the cost was reasonable at $9.49, considering some places in Walnut Creek cost double this price. All in all, a good experience. They have small tables indoor and outdoor seating as well.

This place was highly recommended so we stopped by to see what all the hype was about. The person taking our order was very rude and condescending towards me and my guest. I asked him several times if he could recommend some sandwiches since it was our first time there. He just looked at us with a blank look. He seemed very annoyed by my question. He rolled his eyes and said rudely to let us them when we’re ready to order. We were so distraught by this interaction. Wanted to leave and never come back. But my guest insisted we try them out. So reluctantly I ordered a #8 pastrami sandwich and my guest ordered #6 3/4 turkey sandwich. Felt totally rushed.

We decided to eat/share the pastrami sandwich in the car since they were closing soon. And boy oh boy let me tell you..this was one of the WORST sandwiches I’ve EVER had!! I looked over and my guest had the same confused and disappointed look. The pastrami meat flavor was bland and the only thing visible to the senses was the mustard. Btw, they only had ciabatta bread left to choose from. The meat itself was very chewy and hada lot of fat.

We will NEVER return to this...

Lives here for 3 years and It baffles me how people still religiously go here. Frankly there’s no better sandwich shop in town and their sandwiches rank above the rest, but their service is horrible. I honestly can’t say I’ve had a good/great experience when it comes to the service.

Every time I call it’s a busy line. When they pick up they talk like they don’t care about taking my order. When I ask for anything off the menu with addtl toppings or different bread for example are never correct. When picking up an order the girls behind the counter need to finish up their conversations before packing up my sandwiches

I am a fan of their sandwiches but their service is below par. And I hate to complain about service as I’m in the service industry, but I feel like they need a reality check before it gets to a level that other customers take their business elsewhere despite their...
