When I checked in initially, I was pleased to find that the room was clean. However, after going downtown for dinner and returning to relax in my room and get a good night's sleep before flying out in the morning, all I could hear was the people above me. It sounded like they were stomping around all over their room. I first called to report this at 10:30pm, per the instructions they place next to the phone in the room about other guests who are loud after 10 pm. The man who was managing the front desk knocked on their door, and things quieted down for a few minutes. However, at 11:45 pm, the noise was still bad, and it was impossible to sleep. I called the number they said could be used for after-hours. The person answered once, and after the stomping continued, and 10 minutes had gone by, I called again (several times), and the person stopped answering the phone at the after-hours number provided. I walked outside to go to the office in person, and another couple was standing outside because they'd been locked out of their room and also couldn't reach the after-hours person. Finally, after knocking on the window of the office, someone came out to help. The couple who was locked out was let back in their room, and the front desk went to talk to the noisy room above me again. However, after he talked with them, the noise continued. I would never stay here again. Clearly, the walls and floors are very thin. I requested to be moved to a room with no one above me, and they could not accommodate this request. The only reason I booked this hotel was for a place to get a good night's sleep before catching a flight in the morning. Given that that didn't happen, I don't even know what I paid for. Very poor customer service. I would never stay here again. I don't remember the last time I wrote a negative review, but beware. Spend more money to stay some place nicer. This was not worth the cost savings, and I'm prepared to tell anyone visiting Walnut Creek to...
Read moreThis is a motel. Smoking area is in the middle of the parking lot to make sure all rooms get a whiff of smokers at some point during your stay. Rooms have been remodeled, that's why they get 2 stars. There is not breakfast, that should be removed from all listings and the website. The lobby is closed so you can't even go in. You interact with the staff via a tiny slot in a plexiglass shield. While my room was remodeled it had a strange smell that I couldn't attribute to anything, maybe the mini fridge? Maybe some spray b/c someone smoked in the room before I came? Maybe the problem is I thought an Inn would be a few rooms in a cozy old house... this is just a motel 6 that charges more. And finally, the I called and asked if the internet was fast enough to work from, take zoom calls, etc. The internet is terrible. 4mb down and 1 up. Can't even stream a movie let alone have a zoom call, so don't think about working remotely here. UPDATE: You're right, I should've done better recon before setting my expectations. Owners are quick to respond and answer the phone, the obviously care more than the normal motel. This is a good motel. I'll update my review for you. Still keeping a star off for the slow internet. Also, the odd smell was the mini fridge. It was set to 7 (the highest setting) so I turned it off last night and the smell started to fade. You might want to...
Read moreYou may not believe me after reading this, but no, I do not work for this motel; I am just an extremely satisfied customer driven to write this review because of the top tier experience I had. This motel defines what it means to have good service. Where to begin? The staff are personable and cheerful, and they went above and beyond to meet my (annoyingly) large amount of requests. Example: I was on a contract working nights nearby, and knowing that I was going to be sleep deprived and arriving at an odd hour, they accommodated me with an extra late checkin and checkout. The room itself is above expectations for the price point, and everything clears a higher bar than it needs to. Clean sheets, spotless room, excellent water pressure in the shower, fast wifi, and all the accoutrements that I might expect at, say, a standard Hilton room (iron, coffee maker, abundant soap/shampoo/conditioner, etc.). These may seem like small things, but for someone who frequently takes contracts that send me to far flung places, I've seen a lot of places that fail at even the basics. Not here. A really superb experience, and a great location too, walking distance to some really tasty restaurants that you can really indulge at with all the money you've saved because of the reasonable rate here....
