I have done plenty of escape rooms and this was my first virtual reality escape room! I have done vr before, but never like this and it was such a great experience. The staff give you tons of information and very friendly, if you have or haven’t done vr they go over all the basics to ensure it’s completely safe for you and clear up your questions with the game. The headsets were clean and comfortable as well (I suggest wearing contacts if you where glasses, they do mention that in the email before arriving when you make a reservation).
The game, I played was the Oasis, it was intermediate and for someone who has done plenty it was great for my friend and I. We were a team of two, one who has done plenty the other like once or twice. The puzzles were definitely right and fit the time limit for both of us. What’s great about it is that we didn’t have to group with another group being just two, and the price wasn’t like other places.
Most escape rooms charge you more the smaller group you are (for example, Red Door charged you over 90 just for two, and you end up stuck with another group, but here at Quantum escapes it was consistent at about $32 per person, rounding at about $70 adding taxes and such!)
The staff were so friendly, I loved having a conversation comparing in person versus vr escape rooms. They wanted to compare and understand how to make the experience better since their new these last few months.
BOTTOMLINE, they are reasonably good price wise, the games match the level, you can play just a game of two, the equipment is the best out there, and the staff were so incredibly friendly! (Make sure to read the email they send you when scheduling about what to wear and their safety requirements in regards of Covid-19)
Hands down Amazing, I definitely recommend it ! Follow them on their Instagram...
Read moreWe have played many escape rooms. It was an impromptu decision to try Diablo Escapes...what a wonderful decision! This was our first experience with VR of any kind. I'll admit, I was quite skeptical of how VR could rival a physical room and I anticipated motion sickness, but not only was there zero motion sickness, the VR experience was even better than a physical room.
The level of customer service was unrivaled--at 10 pm they opened just for us for our last minute request! And upon completing Runaway Train (more on that below), the gamemaster gave us a "sneak peak" into the other games offered. We were also told they are working on adding a physical room in the future which sounds intriguing.
Runaway Train was such an immersive 1 hr of play (maybe less for those who are quicker than we). The story line and the challenges/puzzles were far more cogent than even the best physical escape rooms we have tried, fostering a clear objective that wasn't necessarily linear, but avoided what we have often noticed of other escape rooms: the dreaded time delay of figuring out where or how to begin. The use of the VR interface and "manipulating" objects was so natural and rather precise. Since the puzzles were less "puzzle" and more objectives, once we understood the goal, it was exciting to use teamwork and communication to execute. We were a team of 2 and completed the game in an hour but with more people it definitely could have been sooner.
We thank the staff of Diablo Escapes for a fantastic experience. We most definitely will return for the other games we caught...
Read moreThere's a reason Diablo Escapes has a perfect overall rating. I've tried VR only once before but loved it, and my mom was curious after hearing me describe it. We went together and had an AMAZING time! Things you'll want to know:
The staff are AWESOME. There's a dedicated staff for the phone, Fernando, who went above and beyond to make sure our experience was great from the start. In the building, Jeshua was our dedicated support for the game. He was incredibly thoughtful and made both my mom and me feel instantly comfortable.
You get your own room. Even though it was only my mom and me, we had our own room and our own game. This makes a big difference in the experience.
The game was SO FUN!! We did an escape room (Depths of Osiris), which was perfect for escape room beginners. We did need help a couple times, and Jeshua gave perfect hints that didn't give too much away. The escape room game lasted 45 minutes - I couldn't believe how fast the time flew. We also did a short Laser Bots game afterwards to try out a different type of VR. Laser Bots is probably better for a younger audience, and definitely better for more than 2 people.
The VR quality was excellent: beautiful, detailed, and completely immersive. The VR gear fit just fine (even over my mom's glasses) and not heavy. There's also a waist strap, but it was unobtrusive and fit just fine, even though neither of us are at all slim.
All in all, a fantastic experience. Afterwards, we couldn't stop smiling and gushing about how fun it was. If you're thinking about trying it...
