Title: A Hidden Gem: Sylvester's Burgers is California's Best-Kept Secret

I recently had the pleasure of dining at Sylvester's Burgers, and I can confidently say that they serve the best burger in the entire state of California. If you're a true burger aficionado, this place needs to be at the top of your list.

The star of the show is undoubtedly their "Heart Attack Burger." It's a towering masterpiece that will leave your taste buds dancing with joy and your heart racing with excitement. The flavors are perfectly balanced, the meat is juicy and flavorful, and the toppings are fresh and generously piled on. Every bite is a testament to the art of burger-making.

Having served in the military, I have traveled around the world and tasted burgers from countless places. I can say without hesitation that Sylvester's Burgers is the best place to get a burger, hands down. Their culinary excellence is unmatched, and the dedication they put into each burger is evident in every bite.

One of the things I appreciate most about Sylvester's Burgers is their low-key approach. They don’t need flashy advertisements because their reputation speaks for itself. In fact, I’m glad they don’t advertise. If they did, they would put every major chain to shame. In-N-Out? It doesn’t stand a chance against the culinary excellence found at Sylvester's.

Sylvester's Burgers is a hidden gem that deserves all the praise it gets. If you haven’t experienced the magic of their burgers yet, do yourself a favor and head over there. Just be prepared to be blown away. This is burger perfection...

WORST RESTAURANT I HAVE EVER EATEAN AT IN MY WHOLE LIFE. I got very sick from Sylvesters and the workers were extremely rude to me and completely messed up my order. Not only did my order take close to 40 minutes but after making it extremely clear what I wanted the only thing they could get right was the lettuce. After taking it back and asking for them to fix it to what I wanted they were very rude and unwillingly took it back. About 10 minutes later they came back with the same burger but had scraped some of the sauce (which i specifically said no sauce completely dry especially no mayonnaise) off and gave it back to me. I had also ordered a shake which never even came until the very end when we were leaving and was the wrong flavor. All of the workers were unapolagetic and in no way wanted to help me. I ended up eating a bun with lettuce on it (I had asked for a french roll instead of a bun). After getting home I got extrememly sick and puked because of something in their food. I am not sure if the mean waiters put something in my food out of spite or their food was just expired or bad. I am never going back to Sylvesters burgers ever again. I hate it and I hope they close down. Do not ever eat there. If I could give it 0 stars I would. I had to pay full price for everything, even the shake which I could not even drink because they...

What was at one time the absolute best burger in SLO county has lost it. Years of Bad management and continual neglect from the owners have taken their toll. What was once a 5-star review, taken down to a 3 stretching it on a good day.

This location in Oceano is called the Red-headed Stepchild for a reason, Unlike its other locations this one sports Dirty tables, cleaning rags left where children can grab them outside on the handrails in a bucket full of chemicals, pests in the storage rooms, and prices that make the owners richer while the cashiers make minimum wage. $15 for a single burger without fries or drinks? No way!

Now I recently heard the regulars who I use to see every week was told there is a 3 beers max? No pitchers anymore? What next? No extra bacon? Are they going to cancel the free fries with gear? No more free burgers on birthdays? The end is in sight for this place with this management.

Some of the staff are awesome but have their hands tied through bad business practices and poor management. If you are lucky to come in when the good one is there, you will get great food and service, otherwise not. The best staff have mostly left to other locations while this one dies. Sad to see it crumble. Here's to hoping it changes before it's...

On my quest to find the best hamburger, I discovered Sylvester's. This place is known for the best burgers with the largest variety of burgers. Their menu includes: an Old Fashion with Cheese, a California, a Desperado, a Heart Attack which is a burger with a fried egg - bacon - avocado - cheddar cheese - and Sylvester sauce. They have a Habanero Mango, a Black 'n Bleu which has bacon - Bleu cheese crumbles - Cajun spice. There is a Flaming Armadillo which has a cream cheese - roasted jalapeños. To enrich the palates, they offer a Buffalo Burger, an Elk Burger, chili, sandwiches, and a large kids menu. The Sylvester sauce is yummy and accompanies most of the burgers. There is ample parking, limited seating inside, and outdoor seating. The place needs a white glove. There are photographs stapled to the walls that have collected dust. I think they perform the very least in cleanliness. The meal is ordered at the counter. When your number is called, the server brings your meal and any condiments. Guests buss their own table. There is one tiny restroom that is not ADA compliant. The burgers make up for the inconveniences and cleanliness! Yummy!

The place is a bit run down, but what you'd expect for a hole in the wall restaurant. The prices are insane for what you get. No prices listed so order at your own risk. We ordered 2 burgers with fries and onion rings, 1 soda and 1 specialty shake, and our bill was almost $64 before tip! Wow! My husband got the black and blue burger with onion rings and soda, I ordered the teriyaki burger with fries and lemon girl scout cookie shake. My husband's burger was to his liking, but the onion rings were very bland, not beer battered so really not much flavor. Teriyaki burger was way too wet, bun was soggy and ended up having to eat it without the bun. Taste was fair, good enough if the price was lower. The biggest reason for the 2 stars is price, way too expensive for what we got.
