Atherton Park Inn & Suites Redwood City — Hotel in Redwood City

Rooms here are terrible. They smell hideous, everything seems really dirty in the rooms. The decor is from the 80s still. The bed was not comfortable. The carpets we're nasty, I didn't feel comfortable walking around without my shoes on and never chanced taking a shower there either. We had a friend stop by with a dog for literally 2 minutes and the dog was only at our front door. Our friend came by to grab my sister-in-law so they remained outside the door waiting while we had some small talk. Moments after our friend left with his dog our phone rings from the staff who rudely told us their policy doesn't allow dogs. I was shocked because for one the dog never came inside but most of all our friend was only there for 2 minutes at most. I felt like I was being spied on but obviously not very closely or they would have realized the dog never came in and likely wouldn't have made that call. The breakfast that they offer is not good quality. Biscuits were hard, gravy was gross. Their coffee machine was broken at the time we went. We stayed here because we had a family member who was having a pretty serious surgery at the hospital nearby, and we got a discount to stay at this hotel. We would never...

I simply loved my stay here. At first i was a bit hesitant to stay here but this hotel has exceeded my expectations in every aspect from the service to the hotel room to the breakfast. To start with, the service was exceptionally good, the receptionist was kind and very professional in receiving the guests. The room was exceptionally good and the walk ways were so neat and well maintained. Oh my god i really loved the way they managed the rooms and hotel. There were no issues as such within the room, the a/c, no noise from anywhere around the room, it was calm and cool. The bed was super comfortable and they maintained the best amenities within the room from the conditioner to the mouth wash. They have really done there job. And coming to the breakfast in the morning, even though the area was very small but they made sure there were plenty of varieties in the breakfast menu from waffles to boiled eggs to sausages, cereals and donuts and many more. I simply loved the breakfast. The location of the hotel is also very good. It was a really nice neighborhood. There is still a lot i can write about this hotel. I will be for sure staying here again every time i visit SFO. Great...

Great value as nearby hotels are generally more expensive. Loved the big full size pillows. Especially since other motels these days only offer short, sad, little pillows. King sized bed was super comfortable. Shower sparkling clean and easy to operate. I think I can speak for many when I say that its often annoying to find shower controls that take a Phd in engineering to operate to get the hot water you need. Wi fi was readily available and worked great. Breakfast was good. Love those homemade waffle irons that guests can use to make their own fresh waffles. A word of constructive improvement would be to offer bacon or other nice meats with breakfast. Motel room Door keys were easy to operate. Easy walking distance to a great chinese take out. Street is busy and noisy but you dont notice that in your room at all. Nice and quiet. Staff was friendly and thoughtful. Even warmed up my left over chinese food meal AFTER I had checked out. Also let me store my luggage there for a couple of hours before I hit the road. Great value a great place to stay....
