Place is pretty pretentious for what they offer, kitchen likes to close a half hour before listed regularly and they do not answer their phone majority of the time. So don’t bother making a trip in the evening if you live far. Don’t bother ordering take out either, they will cancel your order through DoorDash too. Do not recommend.
No, my intention was not to hurt but go ahead and try to make it personal. My intention is to warn people from driving far to get takeout here when you don’t bother to even greet customers half the time. I’ve been in this establishment quite a few times and have had your food. It isn’t life changing but it’s decent, that’s why I gave it 3 stars. Sorry, you disagree with my opinion. Aside from that, every time I’ve been in this place, the host station is abandoned and the person coming out from the kitchen greeting doesn’t seem to want to serve you at all. The server that greeted me, walked up and said “can I help you?” I’m curious how another fine dining restaurant would treat a person waiting at the door to be greeted. Also, closing your kitchen a half an hour before closing time is pretentious, especially because my order was already placed, they cancelled it because they wanted to leave early. I’ve worked in restaurants, kitchen doesn’t close a half an hour before closing time unless it’s a bar. Any sit down restaurant would grab a menu and ask “dining in or takeout?”. Maybe you’re successful in a small town because there’s a ton of people living here and very few options for Italian. Hole in the wall places have been open 21 years, doesn’t mean their service is 4 star quality. If you don’t want to accommodate for takeout order, just don’t offer it, simple as that. I’ll give you two stars since you bothered to reply. Not everything is 5 stars just because you exist. It’s funny how you say you’re committed to your community but when someone from that very same community has constructive criticism…you can’t seem to hear a thing. My inbox is open if you’d like to reply and actually settle this like a decent business. Somehow I doubt you’re...

Anyone who says this is the "best" italian restaurant they've been to has either: a.) Never eaten at an italian restaurant...or any restaurant for that matter OR b.) Works at the restaurant, owns it, friends with the owner etc.
I'm 37 years old and have eaten at both the best and worst places around the world, and this is by far the worst food I've ever "tried" to ingest. Save yourself some time and money and get a crappy hot pocket from the frozen food section of your worst grocery store. I'm certain you'll enjoy it much more than the so-called food they serve at this place.
My GF and I went there for lunch today and ordered the Spaghetti with Meatball (S). I ordered the fettuchini alfredo with chicken. What my GF got was a small plate of under-cooked pasta, red sauce that looked and tasted like tomato paste from a can, and ONE meatball...Yes, ONE MEATBALL for the entire plate. That's all well and fine but don't use the plural "meatballs" on the menu. She had two bites and couldn't continue. My dish was equally as bad...The alfredo sauce was as runny as 2% milk, the chicken was obviously frozen since it tasted like week old chicken left out to dry in the sun and then frozen and microwaved.
I don't typically write reviews unless it was a particularly great restaurant, and in all of my years this is the first time I've written a negative review as I know this affects the owner, employees and their families but this place was ridiculous.
When our sever came by to check the table she asked my GF how her food was (obviously not very good if after a 1/2 hr only two small fork-fulls of this atrocious meal and asked how the food was. After my GF kindly said it was horrible the server just took the plate back to the kitchen never offering a refund or the option to choose another dish.
The service was sub-par and the food was something I'd expect to eat in a North Korean labor camp...YES, it's THAT bad....
Read moreOMG, this was one of my favorite dinners ever! And I'm over 50 and have eaten Italian food all around the country.
First of all, I loved how casual it felt. It smelled great as soon as we walked in. There were lots of cars in the parking lot which is usually a sign that it's popular for a good reason.
Our server, Kai, could not have been any nicer or friendlier. He went out of his way to welcome us since it was our first time there, even remembering each of our names when he came back to the table later. He also threw in a free perk but I won't say exactly what it was because I don't want everybody to think they should expect it. He was absolutely and awesome waiter and super friendly... Exactly what you would wish for from a server.
The food was unbelievably good. Two of us got the Mama's Trio--lasagna, stuffed ravioli, and chicken parmesan. It came on a large platter, smothered in incredibly tasty red sauce and cheese. The breading on the chicken parm was crisp and well seasoned. The lasagna was juicy and creamy. The ravioli was better than expected. The other person in our party ordered the eggplant parmesan and it was also huge and scrumptious.
For dessert we had a tiramisu, which was super smooth and sweet. We also had the cheesecake which includes a layer of chocolate and a terrific graham cracker crust. Sorry I didn't get photos of the entrees, but check out the pictures of the desserts!
I should have mentioned that they start you off with garlic breadsticks and oil and vinegar to dip it in.
We drove all the way from Oceanside to try this place, and I'm so glad we did! The food and the service (thanks Kai!) were out of this world. Too bad we live in Arizona and won't be coming here very often, but I'm definitely going to keep it in mind next time I get out to the...
