WaBa Grill — Restaurant in California

I made a point of calling to be sure of their business hours and waking up (truck driver) in time to get my dinner to go.

I arrived at 8:45p on 11/4(Thursday) to be told they didn't have any more dumplings. I commented, "Must be good, you sold out."

But NO. The young woman at the counter informed me "We already threw the water out," and wouldn't be making any more. I replied that since it was 15 minutes before closing time, that was not appropriate. She didn't seem to be concerned.

The food I did order came quickly. When I said "Thank you," she replied, "No problem."

"No problem?!" Since when is that an acceptable alternative to your welcome?

I haven't eaten my dinner yet, so we'll see if what I got tastes as good...

Yum!! Great place to come to with your family, or if you're passing through town and need an inexpensive place to eat with great food, and decent sized portions.

Love the fact that everything is fresh and simple. It's basically Teriyaki flavored if I had to describe it.

The steak is awesome, very thinly sliced, and very tender. I want to say it's thinly sliced ribeye, but don't quote me.

If you're a big eater, the trick to this place is getting double order of meat with your bowl or plate.

The rice is great, but I usually ask them to substitute for vegetables. That consists of steamed cabbage, carrots...

I will not be back to this specific location. While the staff was polite enough, the service was definitely lacking. They got my order wrong and did not even offer to correct it or refund the difference. The food itself is incredibly fresh and delicious. It is too bad it is so expensive. The price combine with the poor service will probably prevent me from ever returning to this location, and possibly any locationsfrom this chain.
