Winchell's Donut House — Restaurant in California

Three stars because their donuts where pretty good! Iced coffee was alright. I got it “vanilla flavored” but it was still a bit bitter. (Oh and they didn't have straws, so I had to go to shell to get one).My husband said his hot coffee was good (they give you cream and sugars on side). I ordered him a ranchero bowl. But he said he wasn’t a fan of it. Eggs are microwaved I believe. But I honestly dont mind all this, since they are really new.

The two stars ducked are because a hispanic male employee acted unprofessional when my mother was trying to pay. The kind young girl was having a difficult time charging her so instead of helping his teammate, he goes over her and charges the next two people behind us. I myself have worked customer service before, and let me tell you, who ever you are, no matter if your busy, dont skip over people! You make them feel like they are less important then the other people! And we are allll paying customers supporting you guys.

So maybe yes I will go back, but only for the donuts. And not when...

Now that this location has been open a while, figured it was time to leave a review. Majority of the reviews that were 5 Star were from folks that visited while new, which isn't really accurate for this location post-grand opening.

Variety: Good - Plenty of options Donuts: Just OK - Bland and almost taste as if they are day old Price: Average - Similar to other major donut shops (DD)

Overall, if you are looking for donuts to pick up at a decent price and aren't looking for great flavor or freshness, a safe bet. If you are looking for a breakfast sandwich or some other type of snack, a safe bet. None of these will knock your socks off though and require an immediate return visit. There are better options in town or elsewhere. I would liken this to the McDonald's/Burger King version of donuts. Quick, inexpensive, lots of variety; but really nothing special and they don't specialize in flavor on any...

Usually a great place. Whoever they had working on 12/6/2021 at about 9pm to 11pm really made my experience here horrible. I ordered through DoorDash which I do often. They got my order wrong by giving me the wrong flavored donuts and not even sending me the bagel sandwich. So I reordered. I specifically asked that my order not be wrong this time and this was my 2nd attempt to order. I received the correct order this time but it was so horribly prepared. My bagel had the wrong ingredients and looked like it literally got thrown together. Plus it was somehow cold and burnt at the same time. The donuts were the correct ones this time but seemed to have way more chocolate glaze than usual. This was fine with me but when I took a bite, there was hair hidden underneath the extra glaze. The employee/employees working there in this day at this time have really ruined my experience...
