Tiny’s Coffee House – Miller Beach, IN
Today I slid through Tiny’s Coffee House in Miller Beach, right outside Gary. And let me tell y’all — this ain’t just some random café. This is a statement piece. Tiny’s is proof that Miller Beach is leveling up, shaking off the dust, and stepping into something fresh.
Atmosphere & Vibe
Soon as you walk in, you feel it — cozy but alive. No chain-store coldness here. Tiny’s is for the people, by the people. During the day, they keep it tight: salads, wraps, burgers, fried chicken sandwiches — straight-to-the-point, no filler. At night, the menu stretches out bigger, but even at lunch you’ve got options. And yo, the bakery case? Dangerous. Cinnamon rolls, pastries, bagels, mini quiches — all staring at you like, “Don’t play, you know you want this sugar.”
What I Ate
I wasn’t about to play it safe, so I hit the biscuits and gravy with brisket. That plate came out like it had something to prove — hearty, smoky, stick-to-your-ribs good. Then I doubled back with a Maxwell Street Burger loaded with caramelized onions. Chicago folks know that burger’s got history, and Tiny’s nailed it. That’s the kind of meal that shuts you up mid-bite — all you can do is nod.
Coffee Game
Now the coffee? Man, listen. Tiny’s is roasting their beans in-house, and it shows. I had three cups before I even noticed. Smooth, strong, fresh. Before I left, I scooped up a 2 lb. bag of beans to grind at the crib — because once you taste it here, Folgers back home just feels like punishment.
Service & Hospitality
Respect to Matthew, the owner, who showed love with a complimentary breakfast so we could really explore the menu. That ain’t just customer service — that’s community. That’s a dude who believes in what he’s building.
Final Word
Bottom line: Tiny’s Coffee House is the real deal. Food? Homemade and legit. Coffee? Roasted to perfection. Atmosphere? Chill but buzzing with energy. Miller Beach ain’t what it used to be — it’s better. Tiny’s is proof. If you’re rolling through, pull up, sip something strong, and see what the new Miller Beach...

Tiny’s Cafe in Miller, Indiana, is the kind of place that makes you want to loosen your belt and settle in for a love affair with comfort food. My wife and I strolled in, and let me tell you, this little gem delivered a five-star experience that had us grinning wider than a skillet full of biscuits.
The service? Smoother than a sunny morning. The staff welcomed us like we were long-lost cousins at a family reunion, with warm smiles and hustle that kept the cozy diner buzzing. They were attentive, quick, and handled our order with the finesse of a seasoned short-order cook flipping pancakes.
Now, the food—oh, mercy, the food. My biscuit and gravy with a brisket swap was a revelation. Picture a fluffy, golden biscuit, split open like a love letter, smothered in creamy gravy that’s rich enough to write poetry about. Then, enter the brisket: smoky, tender, and so downright delicious it could make a grown man weep. Each bite was a masterclass in Southern comfort with a Hoosier twist.
My wife, meanwhile, was singing hallelujahs over her shrimp and grits. She declared it some of the finest she’s ever had—and trust me, she’s a grits connoisseur. The shrimp were plump, the grits were velvety, and the flavors danced together like they were auditioning for a spot on Broadway. Everything was fresh, hot, and plated with care that said, “We love what we do.”
The overall vibe? A five-star flavor hug that wrapped us up and didn’t let go. Tiny’s Cafe isn’t just a diner; it’s a mood-lifter, a taste-bud tickler, and a reason to drive to Miller.
From the clean, cozy setup to the soul-warming dishes, this place is a must-visit for anyone craving food that feeds the heart as much as the stomach.

Read moreI think the person running the counter was named Shane. He was super sweet and conversational! The place is big and really well decorated. I only got drinks, so I’m not gonna mark it too low since it seems like the food is really great for a solid price! However, the iced drinks left a little something to be desired. My iced oat milk lavender latte was 7 dollars before tip, which isn’t insane for a coffee shop anymore, but typically drinks at this price point are really rich and blow me away more than, like, a 6 dollar latte elsewhere. Mine was a little more watered down than I’m used to, but it tasted good, just maybe not 7 dollars good. Another friend got an iced matcha latte which tasted good but was packed with ice as well. Icey drinks are great, but I think the challenge comes with making sure it doesn’t all melt down immediately. You guys might be pulling the shots directly onto the ice which is giving it a more watery consistency. If that is something you’re concerned about, I’ve had a lot of success pulling the shots onto the milk and syrup, mixing it in a separate container, then pouring the mixed drink over the ice. However, my third friend got a really great cortado! Their espresso is good, and I totally get charging a higher price for locally roasted/high quality goods, but if you’re getting a drink, consider doing a hot one instead of iced :) great place! Hopefully I can try...
