Review copied from my YELP!
I was waiting for this spot to open for nearly a year. The google reviews showing 1-2 stars are legit. As I walk in to get seats I tell the waitress it would be dine-in for 5. She then proceeds sit us at a table for 4. I was assuming she would grab a 5th chair - she didn't. I then grabbed a 5th chair for myself and waited to order. The waitress never came back, I had to flag her down just to order appetizers. The appetizers were overpriced as were the fountain drinks at $4.00 with NO REFILLS. I ordered the shumai for $10.00 and received 4 pieces. The Takoyaki looked good and are normally hot when served elsewhere. First bite of the Takoyaki, it was cold inside at some parts and the octopus was also cold. My son ordered a smoothie w/boba and the boba was under cooked and hard.
I wait another 15-20 minutes trying to order the rest of our food. The waitress spends a good 10 minutes fiddling around with to-go orders...I try to stop her to order and she starts tending to customers for their take-out orders. More customers walk in and I try to stop her to order and she goes straight to the new customers and proceeds to take their orders and payment. A 3rd customer shows up and she again takes them in at which point I finally get to stop her and ask her CAN WE ORDER. She acknowledges and says she'll return as she leaves to sit them down. After seating that party, she again takes another customer and spends a few more minutes taking payment before finally returning.
My table finally gets to put in our order and I observe a big party across our table receiving their food. The Ramen bowls came out at 10-15 minute intervals. Meaning the first order that came in, that person finished their food well before the others received their Ramen. Normally, food is timed out to be served at the same time...at least that's what I've seen at the other 5 Ramen restaurants in our local area. It took nearly an hour to get all our food which wasn't a big order.
Overall, asides from the under cooked boba and cold takoyaki, the food tasted decent. The Ramen prices HERE are a SCAM...like other google reviews state that the food is not worth the price, just about 17-20$ a bowl. Minimal ingredients and not quite worth the price IMO. Out of the local Ramen spots here in the Ventura area, I'd say this is last place in service and in taste/quality. I'd give it more stars if the prices were realistic and if the service provided was be better.
As I walk out to the parking lot, I noticed their OPENING BANNER and realized our table didn't get the FREE EDAMAME as advertised...
For the sake of Moses' sheep and Jacoby's Emu...Chilis, AppleBees, Denny's, and IHOP include free refills and 2-3$...
Read moreBeautiful ramen place with many tasty options!
This was my mom's first introduction to ramen, and she liked the ramen she got (she went with a classic tonkotsu ramen but decided to add chicken).
I got the pork cutlet bowl. It came with some salad, rice, and a miso soup. The pork was perfectly crispy on the outside and nice and tender on the inside with a delicious sauce drizzled on top. The portion size was very generous and very filling!
As our drinks, I got a Thai Boba milk tea and my mom got a Taro milk tea. The Taro milk tea was very good. And the Thai milk tea I think is one of the best Thai teas I've ever had! The tapioca pearls themselves however, weren't very tasty and kind of took away from the drink. Because of this, I would recommend getting the drinks without the pearls.
Overall, a beautiful restaurant with quick friendly service and...
Read moreThe restaurant looked really fancy and there was only one waiter at the time, but his attentiveness was awesome! I ordered the Coco (coconut) ramen with a spiciness of 3 out of 5 (I’m pretty good with spice but this was the perfect amount of spice) and with chashu (seared pork belly). It was AMAZING. I would definitely go there again and try other things but that ramen is so different from others I tried from other restaurants and is my new favorite:) Would recommend 10/10! It was more of a Taiwanese feeling than Japanese. If you’d rather pay less for food and less labor, this is not the place for you. It was the quality of the...
