Right, just got back from this place. I’m going to preface this by calling out our waiter: I won’t name him specifically, but it started with an M - I hope the extra 30 dollars you grifted from us makes you feel really good about yourself.

So we get taken to our table, it’s a cute spot and our waiter is being very friendly. We order a bottle of wine. He comes back with a more expensive bottle and asks “you ordered this one right??” After stating three times that no we did not, alongside vigorous pointing to the correct bottle of wine on the menu, he leaves it on our table. We realize he’s trying to grift us, but whatever - I’m not going to let my night be ruined over an extra 13 dollars for a bottle of wine.

We thought he’d leave it at that, but no, M comes up to us to make a song and dance, stating that he clearly checked with us that we wanted the more expensive bottle, so we’re going to be paying for it. Fine. Whatever. Please let us try to enjoy our evening.

We have our decidedly mediocre starter and let bygones be bygones. We drink our grifted wine, start enjoying our evening. We decide that, even after the initial grifting, we’ll order some desert and a few cocktails. Desert arrives and dear M says that it is, in fact, on the house.

Wow, we think. Validation. He clearly feels bad about the wine situation and he’s trying to make up for it by taking the desert off. Great.

The bill comes and oh - the desert is still on it. Could We have kicked up a fuss? Yes we could. But clearly M could tell that we weren’t the type, so being the cheeky boy he is he left it right on the bill. Probably just said it was on the house to feel better about himself.

So yeah, I’ll never be coming to this place again. I go to the cinema right by it a lot so we could have been regular customers, but nope.

My recommendation would be to avoid this place, but the food was alright and the rest of the staff seemed nice, so there’s that. It was a nice ambience too. If you do go, just make sure you don’t get M...

Casual neighborhood Italian kitchen that serves good pasta.

My friend and I walked in here on a busy Friday night. We got the last available table near the entrance, and our table was barely four inches apart from the others. We had to move around every time servers tried to pass through that gap, and as a result, we had an extremely difficult time focusing on our meal. Nevertheless, our server did her best not to disturb us and she was very accommodating throughout the evening.

For the appetizers, we had the arancini and the caponatina. Topped with fresh parmesan and basil, caponatina on a toasted bread was a delightful start to the meal. Arancini was good, but the crust was too thick and heavy to be a good appetizer.

From the entrées, our favorite was the bolognese. Each bite of the braised short ribs combined with the classic shaved grana padano and fresh basil toppings exploded with flavor. On the other hand, spaghetti alla vongole was underwhelming. The thick noodles failed to soak up the sauce and resulted in an unappealing mass. Zappa di pesce was essentially Frutti di mare without the pasta noodles, and it was just okay for the price.

Overall, a good spot in a quiet neighborhood to enjoy Italian food in a homey atmosphere. Would probably come back for their bolognese if I don’t want the hassle of traveling all the way to...

We came here for Valentine’s day and to be honest we almost walked out the second we saw our table. I have never been here before but it seems like they rearranged their seats to be all 2-person tables and had crammed as many tables in as humanly possible. The servers could barely get through between the tables. Our table was about 4 inches from the table on one side of us and maybe 10 inches from the other side. We actually had a conversation with the couple next to us (about how ridiculous the seating arrangement was) because we were basically at a 4-top. Super awkward. The person back to back with my partner was shoving his chair backwards into her seat. It was so uncomfortable. And it was freezing. I kept my winter coat on the entire time and every time the door opened it blew cold air inside. The food was fine but pretty expensive. If you are splurging on an expensive meal you at least want to be comfortable. I don’t think we will ever come back. They were trying to maximize their profits by squeezing as many tables in as they could but it definitely crossed the line. Too bad they chose maximizing business one night over getting a new...

I got in super late and Amelia's Trattoria was open and close to my AirBnb. The staff there were amazing. They were patient and helpful and got me a glass of water while I ordered something to-go: the Beat (yes, how they spell it) salad and a tiramisu. These are, quite honestly, two of my favorite dishes to order at most places so I have a lot of comparisons. The one star reduction is just because the beet salad was, fine. The apples in the salad were fantastic and added much needed acidity, but it needed a little more. The tiramisu, however, was pristine. I would come back just for the tiramisu. It was light, slightly sweet mascarpone, perfectly chocolate on top, and soaked in deliciousness <chef's kiss>. I'd love to come back and try their pasta dishes sometime.
