I don't really know my way around Cambridge, but did some basic research on crime and walkability. I picked Amory House for my first night (and eventually second night) stay. I had a great experience, but I also got a discount on the rooms. I don't think I'd be too excited about paying $90 a night for it.
The place is quite clearly a left over mill house of some sort. Incredibly large and segmented, It's built for comfortable multiple person living with each room having its own little corner of the house... and sometimes bathroom. I think I counted 17 rooms.
