The service was excellent! We are from Texas and did not find the food anywhere near comparable to what we get at home. The free chips were thin and crispy, which we found to be excellent! The salsa was not very tasty. There seemed to be a lot of vinegar or something that made it tangy. There was no heat in the salsa. I personally love green sauce but none was offered. I ordered chicken quesadillas. I’m used to fajita chicken served with melted Monterey jack between slightly crisp flour tortillas. This restaurant served shredded chicken mixed with a cheese sauce. It may have had a Velveeta base, but I didn’t find any melted, stretchy cheese when I bit into my quesadillas. It tasted more like a casserole between soft flour tortillas. My husband ordered the chicken taco salad and had the same experience with the shredded chicken. I’m not sure what they mixed the chicken with but the flavor and especially the texture was unlike any Mexican food we are used to. Again the service was excellent, and anyone who isn’t used to Mexican food may find this...
Read moreMost of my friends would say this is their absolute favorite Mexican restaurant in the area. It wasn’t until tonight that I realized why. This was only my second time here and the first time I came the place was still pretty new. Tonight we came to celebrate a birthday party. It was a group of 8. Although I didn’t get pictures of everyone’s dishes, everything was absolutely delish!! My favorite was the beef nachos (I added rice/beans). Their cheese sauce is ahmaaaazing. The place was super busy but it seemed like they kept up with the crowd. Our server was friendly and attentive. It’s not super loud in here even when it is crowded. There are high ceilings but not a big echo. There are an even amount of tables to booths so if you’re picky, you have options. Whether you’re with a big crowd or just a few, the restaurant is well set up to keep you from feeling like you’re in a huge room full of people. The bathrooms are clean and well kept. Bathrooms I don’t always review but will occasionally mention when they’re in better shape than other places. This is a...
Read moreBrightly lit, great music, spacious restaurant. Service was efficient and professional, not overly friendly. We live in the area and have tried all the Mexican restaurants around the lake, and this one was fine. I've come to realize that what is called "Mexican" food here at the lake is just a Tex Mex version of the food. I had 3 fried beef tacos, tiny, sort of under fried tacos, w/a little unseasoned ground beef. My husband had a beef taco plate, which was a burrito filled w/the same unseasoned ground beef, covered in white cheese sauce, a glob of sour cream, and random chopped tomatoes. The beans were definitely NOT homemade, and the rice was bland. My chile relleno was filled w/provel cheese and covered in the salsa that came with the chips. This seems like a great place to party and hang out but not to eat legit Mexican food. Btw, ask for an itemized receipt. We were given a receipt w/no itemization, and when we git to the register and asked for the bill to be broken down, it was...
