Shirley Mae's Bakery — Restaurant in Cameron

These are actual events that occurred on or about Feb 9th at approximately 9:10AM CST outside Shirley Mae's Bakery.

Upon returning to my vehicle after making a purchase at said bakery I was assaulted and was the victim of theft . My companion on this mornings excursion WAS (notice the past tense a close friend known for their... Sarcasm) unbeknownst to me was their inclination to the dark side.

Upon entering my vehicle and trying to place my bag of "baked goods" delicately in the back seat I was assaulted and pushed out their way as the "perp" committed the theft. This is what was said to the best of my recollection as I could barley understand their utterances while they ingested my property.

"At first I was like , 'wow' Cameron has a baker...yeah..." (note the enhanced sarcasm focused on the "...yeah...")

.... Continuing (as they stuffed their face with my recently acquired goodies) "...But then, then once I actually tasted the stuff..." (Pausing to swallow a non human sized mouthful of MY "sticky bun"...) "...But then I was like WOW ... YES!!! we have a bakery!!!!!"

Long story short , WOW... Great stuff, do not go with "friends", and remain vigilant.... You have...

I cannot even describe the pure joy I get when my husband brings me home the pecan sticky cinnamon roll. We drive from Temple all the way out to Cameron just to get pastries from this bakery. There are MANY Bakeries here in Temple, but this one is better than all the rest. I don’t know what secret ingredient she uses but it keeps us coming back time and time again. My husband loves all of a savory items and quiche, I am a diehard fan of their cinnamon rolls of ALL kinds, but especially the sticky pecan! I cannot discount their lemon cookies either, anmazing! And my husband just about ate all of the Bourbon Ball treats before the pastries even made it home to me! I will continue driving this far out of our way for this bakery every single time I want any...

Visited for the first time with my friends. Atmosphere is quite nice, country type which fits in nicely with the town. Good selection of pastries, such as delicious lemon bars, cookies and much more. I decided to try a slice of their coffee cake. It had a generous amount of topping without overwhelming the taste of the cake itself. It was excellent and went well with their good coffee ☕️. Prices are reasonable, service was very good (hard to find that nowadays). We asked a couple of questions and they responded without hesitation and in a friendly but more professional manner.
