Went there for lunch on Sunday around 3pm. I hadnt been to a Druthers since the 1980s; I was feeling nostalgic and excited. After ordering my food, taking a seat to wait then visiting the restroom i had decided to ask for a refund before my food was presented. I was starving and really wanted to try the food but the place was filthy and there was no way i was eating at a place like that. It was not super busy so i cant find any excuse as to why it could be in that shape.Whomever owns it should think about new management and a total refurbishment because i would rather eat a ham sandwich off of my dirty tailgate then touch my bare hand to any surface in that resturant. Its hard to believe that place could score in the high 90s for a health rating (i asked) im sure it was an untruth. There were spiderwebs and greasy handprints and dirt on both sides of the windows. Every table open looked dirty. The floor was more bits of straw rappers and napkin confetti that actual floor showing. The flush valve on the mens urinal was green with corrosion the garbage cans were overflowing. The outside of the building looked rotted around the top and missing lot of paint, the inside ceiling tiles show where many roof leaks once were. I cant imagine how gross the kitchen and places public cant see is. I know that these small towns seem to have lower standards but in Louisville this place would have been closed down. Gordon Ramsey should do his show 24 hours to hell and back at this place! The only good thing i can say, is that the employees promptly refunded my order without any hesitation...
Ā Ā Ā Read moreWe recently moved to Campbellsville from Washington state and found out about Druthers from the YouTube channel "Sets, Streets & Eats". I will give 100% on the Royal burger, it's a classic tasting burger very similar to a burger from dicks drive in, in the Seattle area. I have also tried the biscuits and gravy (not bad for the money!), The 2pc chicken dinner (not a fan, it was bland, kinda cold, the jojo fries were mushy and the slaw was identical to KFC), the onion rings (I don't know if we go the reject rings or what but they were all very small and not much to write home about those), Fish-Wich (cold battered fish on rye, this was not only bad but left a bad taste in my mouth for seafood in general) BUT! If you want a TANKER of soda, order a large! If you spilled this thing it would do more damage than the Exxon Valdez! The restaurant was fairly clean, definitely older and could use either a major update or a remodel to its former glory. I have yet to try the hand pies and ice cream that everyone raves about, hopefully soon. at this time I can say that I will return to Druthers but probably just for the royal burger and a soda from the drive thru. the rest of the food I have sampled was not great and the staff is consistently rude and loud. but I am glad to see a place with some nostalgia still around but it could use some real hands...
Ā Ā Ā Read moreThe food was absolutely great, I got the breakfast plateā¦. Which was scrumptious! It came with two eggs, one biscuit with gravy, one butter biscuit, and two delicious sausages. It was excellent selection for the priceā¦. $5.99! It would have been better if I wouldāve also gotten something salty to go with the food, fries š! I like my salt, especially during summer months!
I didnāt get dessert as it would have been almost too much for me.
The service was top-level. We had our own ketchup bottle! We ordered at the counter, got our drinks and then they brought the food out to us!
The atmosphere was loud! It was right after lunch, and it looked like a lot of church-goers were there and everybody was talking! So not the best place to have a quiet discussion on Sunday at lunch time! š
All in all, I would rate the place 5 š, the noise wasnāt their problem, and while it wouldāve been nice to have more room with so many people⦠the reason we chose Drutherās was because we saw it was lower priced. If they would expand it would increase their prices which was the whole reason we picked that place to try out! Iāll...
