Aki sushi and Thai — Restaurant in Canton Township

My fiance called and made an order on 8/28, and was told that it would be 50 minutes to wait and that you can't pay over the phone. That's fine. We wait for 50 minutes, and come in to pick up with a gift card that we had bought from the Aki Thai and Sushi from Ypsilanti, MI and a credit card. When arrived, the man stated that he didn't remember our order. We had already waited close to an hour. When we showed the number we called, it came up on their phone history with my fiance's full name - so we obviously had called and placed an order. The man then said that it didn't matter, as he doesn't remember it. My fiance asked for a discount then on the food that we'd yet again make another order for. The man said that he would not give us a discount as he didn't remember our order - this was clearly not our fault. This customer service was very poor and they did not care at all. After placing another order as we were still wanting Thai food, my fiance goes to pay with our gift card. Our gift card was then also DECLINED as their computer system is "apparently different" than the one in Ypsilanti and that we could only use it there. So, not only did my fiance have to wait again, pay full price, but they also wouldn't accept our gift card. Very disappointing and upset to say the least, and Aki's customer service was poor. Updated! I understand inflation, i understand risen price in everything, but sad part is when u change the quality of your food quantity of the food and raise the price all at the same time. And than have the audacity to lie and say “dont come here if u no like the price.”

I will accept paying more but when I have been coming for more than 4 yrs and you are saying I dont know what I am talking about is just rude and bad service. The chicken smells in any dish u’ll try, and smells BAD the sushi isn’t worth it, I will get better sushi at sams or krogers and pay less also. I am not even dining in and I paid $70 for four rolls of sushi! NOT WORTH IT. Save your money!

They have Halal Chicken so they serve Halal thai dishes, but it is limited. Love the curry pad thai, Dirty mouth, and buttina roll. Edit 2/20 better service but everytime we go these last few weeks, usually after 9p or even 10p there have been large families with kids. The restaurant has done nothing to curb the children running around the restaurant, being loud and obnoxious, open mouth coughing, watching loud children's videos without headphones etc. For a sushi "bar" that serves alcohol, young children shouldnt be allowed in after 9p. Adults without children going later at night for drinks and sushi shouldnt have to deal with that. As much as we love Aki sushi, we will stop eating here if this continues.

Edit 8/19 their service is seriously slipping! They need to hire more waitresses and waiters. Only server on and she cant take care if everyone when its busy.
