Pushy on sales, and questionable work!Ā I was referred here when my long time dentist suddenly retired.Ā I was in need of an old crown replacement at the time, which was done here by Dr Julie at my first appt... no problems.Ā However, I was told at my next appt that I need a great deal of work done that my former dentist had not mentioned to me.Ā I went along with it, thinking they had all the newest technology and knew their stuff.Ā But I agreed to less work than they wanted to do all at once, and let them start on one in back that had an old, large filling, to replace with a crown.Ā The crown prep appt went ok, a lot of pain, but the tooth needed some cleaning out, so I expected that.Ā However, when I went back to have the crown put on (4 weeks later), I was in SO much pain when they took the temporary off, that it didn't feel normal... it felt like the nerve was exposed.Ā I have had many crowns done and never had this experience.Ā Typically, the final crown placement is simple and painless... but I had to be numbed for them to even touch it!Ā Dr Julie assured me this was normal and proceeded to give me several injections which hurt so bad that I literally cried, which I've also never done at the dentist.
Meanwhile, my adult daughter, who was also referred here when our old faithful retired, had a very bad experience with this office diagnosing several cavities she didn't know she had.Ā She got a second opinion and they couldn't see said cavities. She didn't go back.
So at this point I was on shaky ground with Contemporary Dentistry, and it only took one more appt to convince me to never go back...
The appt was to start work on a tooth that I was told has so much decay that it needs a crown instead of a filling, even though the tooth has never bothered me or had a filling, and has very little visible signs of decay.Ā So this time, when I went in for the crown prep, I made sure to ask for another xray, because it had been a few months and I was starting to get pain in the tooth, so I wanted to make sure it didn't need a root canal first.Ā I was then told by the assistant, it's ok if it needs a root canal, they can drillĀ through the crown to do that after.Ā I was like, say what?Ā You want me and my insurance company to pay you for a crown that you might soon have to drill into??Ā No thank you, let's make sure we do the xray!Ā But when they tried to do the xray, they couldn't get the picture.Ā I was told the machine was acting up.Ā A 2nd tech came and tried, and she was holding the pad in my mouth while taking the pic, trying to get the right angle... the edges on the pad were sharp and she was literally cutting my gums with it... I complained and they tried a softer pad, which was better, but they still couldn't get the picture. After 6 tries (and God knows how much unnecessary radiation to my face), they had DrĀ Rima come in, who stated she would help them get the xray after numbing me, so it would be more comfortable. Say WHAT?
And that was it... never in all my years of dentist visits (I'm 59) have I had a dentist suggest they need to do the numbing injection just to get the damn xray.Ā I was then given a story that my mouth has "an extra bone" in the way causing them not to be able to get the correct angle. Never heard that before either.Ā Ā Please be careful if you...
Ā Ā Ā Read moreI co-own a healthcare facility myself and let me tell you this is NOT a patient driven practice. They have a nice facility to create a fake facade. Itās clear their motivation is sales and money. I would assume a majority of their recommendations are exaggerations and unethical. Based on other reviews Iām not the only one.
I had a poor experience here three times in a row. I continued to go because itās located less than a mile from our house.
On the first visit I was there for 1.5 hours without receiving a cleaning with no warning this would occur. They tried selling Invisalign, sleep studies, and told me I had 5 cavities when Iāve never been told this and receive dental treatment regularly.
I went a second time thinking it was the particular dental hygienist I was originally with. This time they were perfectly nice acted like everything was fine until I was at the counter checking out and all of a sudden I had 4 more cavities.
I scheduled an appointment to have one side worked on which Iām very skeptical was even needed but would prefer to be safe. The hygienist tries putting 3 shots in my mouth without numbing and as I vocalize im in pain she yells at me āOKAY OKAY Iāll have the dentist do it.ā As if Iām overreacting that she has a needle in my mouth I can fully feel.
I wake up the next morning and my teeth are cutting into the side of my cheek so I call to have it looked at. Iām told I can come that day at 2 which is only 2 hours away in the middle of the work day and when I state itās not a possibility they are so incredibly rude as if Iāve inconvenienced them and want me to wait a week. I let them know I have full availability the next three days and can see any dentist and they state they will not allow me to see anyone else. So I would be forced to sit in pain for a week but itās my fault because I canāt drop what Iām doing at the exact moment.
I contacted my old dentist and will be seeing them first thing tomorrow. This place is a scam. Do not let the fancy furniture and TVs fool you. They are not a...
Ā Ā Ā Read moreSo back in March, after extensive research on implant specialists, I went in for a consolation. I have insurance but I knew they were going to accept mine and what i was getting wasn't covered under insurance anyway (cosmetic surgery) I decided since im paying out of pocket I may as well go to the best. I went because ive been waiting to invest in myself, invest in my smile the PROPER way, (not veeneers from Mexico being placed on top of underlying decay and gum disease) and i went for longevity. My 1st initial consolation I was blown away at how clean, big, organized, the office is, how professional, nice, and welcoming everyone is. When open enrollment opens up for my job I will be switching my dental plan so this can be my primary dentist office. Fast forward.... from my initial appointment to my deep cleaning with my dental hygienist, the lady that handles payment plans, the dentist himself!!! Everything is amazing!!! I had 6 implants put in yesterday. And i was so scared. But they literally tried to make me as comfortable as possible. All I remember was the doc coming in and trying to comfort me. He said "I do this everyday, your in good hands"....then i said "i know thats why i came here." ....then i passed out from the anesthesia. lol. Over all i had a great experience and its worth the drive and the money out of pocket!!! I cant wait for my next appointment and when i get my permits. They will probably do my braces on my bottom teeth too. Switching dentist can be nerves wrecking but I love this...
