JJ’s Custard Company - Canton — Restaurant in Canton Township

Looking for a late-night sweet treat? Look no further than The Custard Company! This place left me wanting more, and I can't wait to go back and see what else they have to offer. Conveniently located a short distance from Superior Township or Ypsilanti, with free parking available, I was able to make a late-night trip for some ice cream since they close at 11 pm. When I walked in, the atmosphere was friendly, clean, and welcoming. I was pleasantly surprised to see that they sell my favorite local ice cream brand, Guernsey's Dairy Ice Cream!

But the real highlight was when I checked the menu and saw that they offer Dole Whip - not just pineapple, but also mango and another flavor! My jaw dropped, and I couldn't contain my excitement. I just went today around 5:45 for a treat with my friend. the custard was good and the place was nice, but i was not impressed by the staff who were working. i thought it was unproductive and quite honestly gross seeing them sitting on the counter (yes! sitting on the counter) and on their phones while nobody was in there but us eating our ice cream. obviously i don’t work here, but im sure there are ways that they could be productive and not giving me the ick about having my food served in this area where they were sitting on the counters and touching their phones and not washing their hands or the surfaces before helping people. please address this issue with your staff because i was quite disgusted...

The store is clean & the menu is very direct and easy to understand! If you have questions, the ladies working are very helpful. They have a lot of interesting options and stay open til 11pm on Sundays which is very cool! 😎 I especially liked that vegan options are available & they make pies that you can carry out. We got Dole Whip Vanilla dipped in Strawberry & Shortcake topping. From the taste of it, you can tell they make their own SS topping which was very delicious. 😋
