I've been going to M&M Cafe since I was a little boy. It was always a good comfort choice for when I was hungry and didn't want to travel far. They've always been pretty high quality and tasty for as long as I can remember. With that being said, it's hard for me to rate my trip well. What used to be a favorite spot has seen better days. The first thing I notice is the buzzing of a broken speaker system. While not a big issue, it begins to get unpleasant the longer you stay. If that was the only thing I'd still give this place a 5 star, however what ended up next was just sad for me. I used to love coming here for cheese fries! Thru had the kind that was the sauce and we're so good, the only place you could get a good portion with print kind. Today unfortunately I was greated with a pile of fries with two slice of American Cheese on it. A far cry from what used to be. It's the little things that have changed that makes it hard to give a higher rating. It's like the owners have slowly put less heart into this place, which is a shame. Times are tough, so I get it. Read moreMy friend had recommended this place as an alternative to the Coney islands. He indicated that the Coney Islands cannot compare to M&M Cafe. It is a great alternative and I have to say that he was absolutely correct. I wish I had come here sooner. They have a very well-defined menu that is not the typical of a Coney Island but it still has fast service excellent staff who are super polite and the food is super tasty. I can't find any reason not to give it 5 stars. Everybody should check this out. I can't wait to come back and try their broiled pork chops for dinner. They also have New York strip steak and eggs and subtle other menu items that are not at a traditional Coney island. This is not a Coney island. This is a cafe. We had the Philly and chicken melt. Update: brought the rest of the family back for breakfast. Everything was top notch. Eggs over easy, medium, and scrambled were all achieved....
Read moreOver heard a staff member cussing and talking about me based off the seconds I walked in (my first time) I might add but not only that there was children even closer to the staff then I was the staff here seams to be over worked by what she was telling other costumers or maybe just trying to get a better tip from here's a good one don't talk about the costumers if there still there you could really reuin your fellow employees tip, it wasn't handled that way but not everyone is going to feel that way.
The food wasn't anything special either. Connie island is better the staff has more care. Not any place...
