Last week I did a pick-up. I was warmly greeted by Mo and Klevis; professional and inviting. 🤗 I ordered lobster shrimp bruschetta, chicken portabella mushroom rice bowl with salad, and spaghetti bolognese. All excellent flavor, perfect portions and right temperature (hot). With exception of the salad that came with the chicken portabella mushroom rice bowl. It just did not have that WOW factor. Execution “including” the dressing BELOW AVERAGE, not sure what flavor it was, maybe Caesar? Maybe Garlic? Maybe Ranch? It had zero character, it was runny and whoever prepared it added way too much of it. 🤔 It’s supposed to be “salad with dressing” NOT “dressing with salad”. 😂 😆
Today, I met with Randy, General Manager to provide feedback. He was open-minded, patient and a GREAT LISTENER!!! 😎 I sensed immediately he takes great pride in what he does. I made several recommendations. First, for that salad, to add thin slices of red onion, cucumbers, grape tomatoes; add some visual color, MAKE IT POP, give it zest and definitely work on improving that dressing. 🤔 Second, to tone down that bright obnoxious fluorescent lighting. It reminds me of a grocery store or a medical office. 😬 Third, to add some “personalty” to the restaurant; contemporary artwork & floral arrangements, to pair with the warm staff; like Mo and Klevis. Finally, align to the “original” LA Bistro restaurant ambience located in Dearborn. They get a ton of traffic from Ford and some of those Ford people live in Canton. MARKET THE BRAND! 🏆 🏆 🏆
5 STARS to the staff, Mo, Klevis & Randy. Personality and people skills an absolute must in the restaurant business otherwise, stay home and to the 3 main dishes which were well-executed with exception of the salad but there is still hope. 🙏 I will return, dine in and bring friends but under one condition; either Mo, Klevis or Randy is at the restaurant to take...
Read moreI had heard great things about this place and wanted to try it out, so when my husband and I had date night, we checked it out. When we walked in, the atmosphere was so pretty and formal. Nice decor, chandeliers and color scheme. The hostess seated us right away because we went at 3:30pm. There were a significant number of people already there. Our server was so nice and attentive. We ordered firecracker shrimp for an appetizer and my only complaint is there weren’t more. They were delicious! Perfect spice and tangy. Very good. I got the almond chicken because the reviews said it was amazing. I wanted to like it so bad. It looked great and there were nice big portions. But the lemon cream sauce really had a slight Parmesan taste to it, almost like Alfredo and and can’t stand Alfredo and it really turned me off. I ate the chicken and rice around the sauce though and that was good. But the other thing is that it is doused in sauce, like caked on, which would probably be awesome if you love the sauce, but not so much if you don’t. I also got the lemon-chicken and rice soup and it was very interesting. Definitely tangy like lemon, it was unique, but very good. My husband got something with tomato sauce and pasta, which he doesn’t remember and he said it was very good. I’d love to go back and try something else on the menu, so many things looked good and the staff...
Read moreWe ABSOLUTELY LOVE the food and the staff at LA Bistro Canton! They are very caring, attentive, and the orders are always accurate. We tend to prefer carry out for our busy sports schedule. For the first time I had a negative experience where I pulled into a parking spot that faced a seating area. I didn't even have regular lights on, just the LED sidelights my F150. A family seated right in the line of my parking spot seemed upset with my parking there, and all family members turned and stared in a rude manner at me as I exited my truck to pick up my carry out order. I didn't feel I did anything rude or intentional to ruin their dining experience. I reported it to the staff who were very understanding and caring. I suggested they close the shades so those dining in do not feel so upset by me simply pulling into a parking spot. The staff was AWESOME. It really wasn't their issue and I ensured them I didn't feel it was. But they showed they care about all patrons experience, whether dining in or not. The manager was so kind and walked me out to my truck. The family saw us and miraculously didn't even look at us this time around. I didn't want drama in th first place, but it's not right to make people just pulling into a parking spot to feel unwelcome. The owners, management, and staff are awesome and so is their food! I will always recommend LA...
