I went out tonight with a friend and ate here. I read a review a couple weeks back and it sounded like the place to try. Boy it was just what I needed in my life . The atmosphere was very mellow, and don't even get me started about the music, because I've just done it ... So listen up. These folks know how to pick the music to play in a restaurant. It was almost too good to be trueAnd the food? Phenomenal. I got the crab cake sandwich , the fries were perfectly cooked and seasoned. I practically licked my plate. The evening progressed, and I noticed that my friend and I had finished our food but we're still relishing in the good conversation. That's when our server asked the golden question: would we like any dessert? I would have said "No ,thank you." if not for the mention of bread pudding. My friend had never had bread pudding before, and it's practically in my blood. It was a no brainier. It was , you guessed it: to die for. My friend and I had eaten almost all of it before I thought to take a picture. Which is a shame because the brulee was on point . Long...
Read moreI drove 30 minutes on a Friday to get to this restaurant off exit 14 of I-575 to have dinner with my son and his family.
I arrived at 5:30pm. On the outside it looks like a hole-in-the-wall joint in a strip mall, but the very attentive service inside made the difference. The layout is quite informal, tables and booths, with kitchen open to public view. I think a family business - respect.
I saw only 4 other patrons, and several tables side-by-side with a "Reserved" sign on it. As my visit progressed, two families and another foursome arrived, filling nearly all of the remaining seats, so the restaurant appears to be a local attraction.
Though I really wanted to try one of the many sandwiches, I ordered French Style Pepper Beef Medallions because that seemed a good benchmark of the chef's skills. The meal included a few green beans and potatoes bits. Though the medallions were not the very best that I've had, the beef was tender and juicy. I cleaned the plate.
Would I...

Despite the less that creative signage and local cafe feel the menu fills out with a large variety of different t cuisines.
I don't talk to the owner and find out about organic or locally sourced but there is definitely a creative feel here.
The salads were above average with unique dressings.
The steak was cooked well with roasted potatoes and a delicious mustard cream sauce. I didn't have to cut off any fat either.
The chicken was very light and juicy with a fluffy fried shell. It didn't taste heavy or overly greasy.
The read putting had a white chocolate which I don't like but it wasn't over whelming and the consistency was good.
The Pana Cotta was also done right, maybe a little too soft if I was being picky with a strong caramel sauce. The panna cotta doesn't need the caramel sauce at all. It was good by itself.
I will definitely come back here and try some...
