✨ Review of The Lunch Box Café ✨ ⭐️⭐️⭐️⭐️⭐️
Oh, what a splendid afternoon we fair folk had at The Lunch Box Café! My wings still flutter thinking about it. I, Liora the garden fairy, arrived with my dearest friends—Thistle the house elf and Juniper the moss sprite—and we were greeted by the warm scent of homemade bread and laughter. Everything here feels kissed by magic and made with love.
The food was a wonder! Every sandwich, soup, and salad was crafted from local treasures—fresh vegetables, golden honey, creamy cheeses. You could taste the hills and sunshine of Candler in every bite. Thistle declared the biscuits were “so good they might make a goblin weep,” and I quite agree.
And oh, the desserts! The moon pie was pure enchantment—soft, fluffy, and sweet as a midsummer cloud. We shared a slice of pie that shimmered with buttery perfection, and even Juniper was speechless (which is rare).
After lunch, we admired the little corner filled with charming stationery and trinkets. The antique cordial tea set gleamed like it remembered fairy banquets of old. Truly, The Lunch Box Café is a pocket of earthly delight—homemade, heartfelt, and...
Read moreMy wife's been wanting to try this place out, so we finally did. She ordered one of the menu specials (chicken liver), I ordered a chili cheeseburger. We ordered our daughter a burger kid's meal.
So, the ding to service starts here: it was friendly (albeit a bit slow for attentiveness)...but I did not receive a chili cheeseburger...I received a regular cheeseburger.
Now, next piece was the food quality. It wasn't bad...it just wasn't good either. The burger was better than McDonald's (low bar), but inferior to JRo's just down the street for a comparison. Fries were bland, and not particularly crispy either (almost as if they'd been baked rather than fried). My wife had similar comments about her livers.
Atmosphere was average. Could do better with some minor changes, but nothing particularly bad or good here either.
Prices were high for what you get (for the above, it was ~$45 before a tip).
Overall, I probably won't be back unless someone else brings me in there (nothing against the place, just nothing special, and there's better options...
Read moreThought I’d try this place since I was out here but was definitely disappointed. I was the only person in the restaurant during lunch hour no less but I ate anyway. Service was good/friendly but, as much as I hate to leave reviews like this, the food was not good. Ordered a chili cheeseburger and tater tots. Cheeseburger was undercooked, could still see pink in it. Believe I was charged extra for cheese even though I wasn’t told that. Tasted ok I guess. Not great. Tater tots were hot and fresh but man something was just off with them. Almost a rotten potato taste in some of them. Also, the whole place smelled like a basement if you can imagine that. It’s not just the canton smell either. Also, the waitresses young daughter was sitting just two or three booths in front of me coughing her absolute head off the whole time. Her baby was in a stroller behind the counter. Place seemed run down too. Like small businesses but no I can’t do this one again. Be...
