Every part of our experience was horrible. The waitress barely came over - Really just to take our order and bring our receipts, hunting her down for that was even a challenge as she seemed to be the bartender. I’m not sure why a bartender would have an 8 top table as well. Parties over 6, they apply auto gratuity but this place seems like once you have over 6 and they get their auto gratuity they could care less about you. I ordered a steak medium and it came out rare, couldn’t find our waitress for the life of me nor did she come to check in on us. Also, ordered the empanadas. I didn’t eat the rice and only finished one of the empanadas. I asked the waitress for a box for the remaining rice and empanada I had on a plate and she said ok she’d bring one. She asked if I was done with the other plate that was empty and I told her yes. She took the empty plate and my leftovers that I asked the box for and took it to the back. I assumed she was boxing it for me. She then came out with an empty box and I asked her what that was for as I didn’t see my leftovers. Needless to say, she threw them away and wanted to argue about it and said I told her I was done with it was was in fact not the case. She became defensive with an attitude not trying to fix the problem or offer a solution, no apology, nothing. Then left us and went back to bartending. Would not recommend! Atleast she got her quick 20% auto gratuity for not having to do anything and being completely rude. Will not...
Read moreFinally! This is all I've been waiting to happen in Cape Coral! A great food with a high standard service and tastefully decorated restaurant. Not your typical Cuban, Coco Loco is the place where it seems the chef took the essence of the best Latin cuisine and crafted a menu where all the dishes we tried were nothing less than gourmet while still feeling they were cooked at home by la abuela. The drinks were nothing less than spectacular either, if the waitress doesn't tell us there is no hard liquor (State of Florida, fix that please!) I would not have noticed at all, their mixologist couldn't have done a better job. After appetizers and main courses I knew I had to try a dessert, usually I would share it, but I had to gulp a whole Tiramisu myself (inside a cafetera, are you kidding me? how nice!) and half of a Coco Lolita. Bottom line, the desserts are to die for, they're a menace to most diets. You would think all of this comes along with a swollen check, not at all! I don't know how they manage, but I have paid locally a lot more for a lot less. Michelin Guide, I hope you're aware of...
Read moreOh my goodness — we just had to share our incredible experience at Cubans Coco Loco in Cape Coral! Our family went today and we were completely blown away. The food was absolutely delicious, the atmosphere was vibrant, and the service was truly impeccable.
What made it even more special? The owner of the restaurant was actually there and personally waited on us! He was so kind, welcoming, and full of knowledge — he took the time to share stories about the restaurant, its roots, and even pointed out some of his favorite dishes. Later, we found out that many of those dishes were his own creations! Talk about passion and heart in the kitchen.
We ordered the Arroz y Mar and the 90 Miles dish (fun fact: Key West is only 90 miles from Cuba — learned that today! 🇨🇺), along with the croquette sampler and the tostones topped with beef. Every single dish was out of this world — rich, flavorful, and made with love.
If you haven’t been yet, do yourself a favor and check this place out. It’s a total hidden gem and an unforgettable culinary experience! Thank you so...
