My wife and I recently had the pleasure of dining at a restaurant that left a lasting impression. Despite a bit of a wait, our experience was nothing short of exceptional. The moment we stepped inside, we were greeted by an elegant and inviting atmosphere that set the tone for the evening.
The highlight of our dining experience was undoubtedly the delectable cuisine. The diverse selection of dishes catered to every taste bud in my mouth hole, leaving us spoiled for choice. While the first steak I ordered was slightly overcooked, the issue was promptly rectified by the attentive staff. Each dish that followed was meticulously crafted using the freshest ingredients, making it evident that a culinary angel with neck tattoos was at work in the kitchen.
As we perused the extensive cocktail list, I must admit that my patience was put to the test. However, with the guidance of the skilled bartenders, I managed to choose the perfect drinks that added an extra layer of sophistication to our meal. The unique and flavorful concoctions truly impressed.
In addition to the outstanding food and drinks, our waitress Katie deserves special recognition. She was hands down the most attentive, friendly, and professional server we have encountered in a long time. Katie’s knowledge of the menu was impressive, and she gladly offered recommendations based on our individual preferences (and incompetence-induced hunger). Katie, if you’re reading this, I hope you’re not in witness protection because I used your real name. But rest assured, you made our first-time experience at this restaurant truly memorable.
All in all, despite a minor hiccup with the initial steak and a lengthy wait, our dining experience was exceptional. From the inviting atmosphere to the meticulously crafted dishes and delightful cocktails, everything came together to create an unforgettable evening. We highly recommend this restaurant to anyone seeking a combination of great food and impeccable service. As for the prices, let's just say that one can afford to take their wives so long as you stick to a strick budget of leaving the ungrateful children at home and treating the girlfriend to what used to be the dollar menu...
Read moreFor starters, when the gentlemen seating us stated we were next, the women who must have been training him stated "let them wait, they've only been waiting for 20 minutes" ...ok, we can hear you. She was trying to teach the young man, bit was more of a angry boss then a leader. We were then sat and saw the menu had excellent choices, very well designed and thoughtful. Menu is curbed towards any type of eater. Very well done there. We started with the billionaires bacon and it was a nice treat, however at $14, I'd hope so. We ordered two drinks and two waters, we received our drinks and with no waters. After about 15 minutes we found our waitress and asked for them. I ordered the NY strip, which on Google states it's $28 which in turn it was $40. The steak was decent but had a huge ring of fat, probably 1/3 the steak itself. Cooked perfect however, but not very hogh of quality for the price. Wife ordered the chicken carbanara and the chicken was very dry as well as the price up another substantial amount. The noodles and the garlic sauce were excellent. We asked for more of the garlic sauce and after the waitress had already forgot 3 things she apologized again...and she went to ask for more. That never came. So no ice for the wine, no waters, no sauce for the meal and had to use our old silverware from our apps for dinner. She had a wonderful personality and was very friendly though. She knew the menu ,but was very forgetful of things. I was really hoping this place was going to be great upon the high reviews. It was decent, but not running back anytime soon. Dinner was $140 for 2 with tip and it just wasn't worth it. Was a wednesday night and I didn't see the staff committed to their work or taking the dinner experience seriously. I guess a lack of pride it seemed. More of a "pay 20% that's the norm and I do the minimum, were feeding tourists. Will try again maby in the future. Upsetting, this place could be a real go to for a...
Read moreOn vacation here in FL from the Midwest. Looking at reviews for recommendations for dinner with some good seafood and came across numerous good reviews for Point 57. Arrived at about 7:15 pm on a Wednesday night and it was only slightly busy but there appeared to be one very large party in the center of the restaurant. We waited for a few minutes before wait staff came to our table to take a drink order. By this time, we’d already had time to look at the menus and knew what we wanted to order. We ordered two appetizers (Caribbean shrimp and salmon lettuce wraps) and the garlic and Parmesan crusted grouper for our entrée. It took awhile to get our food as there seemed to be some chaos with the staff due to the larger party of people there. The salmon wraps were okay. The salmon was cooked well with a bit of a crust in seared areas, but the lettuce was a bit limp and the slaw underneath didn’t have much flavor at all. There was also a bit too much of the soy glaze to the point that was mostly what you tasted. While I didn’t care for the Caribbean shrimp (just an odd flavor that wasn’t hitting me right) my daughter did like it but was not at all impressed by the sauce or whatever the smear of cilantro yogurty stuff was on the plate. Now for the main entree…The crust on the grouper was soggy from the overly vinegary slaw that was on top of it and the fish itself was like biting into a rubbery chicken breast. No flakiness, no flavor, NO GOOD! The shrimp in the risotto were also little balls of rubber and I’ve had better sauce from a jar. We did share our concerns about the fish with the waitress and the manager did come to our table to apologize and offer to remake the food or give us a free drink or dessert. However, we weren’t drinking and we’d experienced enough of the food. That said, I would NOT recommend their “signature dish” at $42 a plate…yep, no discount...
