the passive aggressiveness and the poor cheese plate, unfortunately, overshadowed the amazing wine selection and knowledge. the owner knows her wine. my wine was great. everything else was lacking. when we asked to confirm the cheese plate was in fact the large cheese plate - she nodded and walked away to confer with her colleague. then without coming back to explain anything to us, she walked into the kitchen to emerge minutes later with 3 more airy slices of manchego. let me be clear a single portion of cheese for one cracker isn’t a large cheese plate even if four cheeses are present. we had four crackers with four pieces of cheese. we each had a literal nibble. don’t bother ordering anything. order your wine. bring your own. or go to the other wine bar around the corner....

Beware, not family friendly, even if you're sitting on the street patio and are ordering food. The owner does not want anyone under 21 at his venue. He tried to sell us on some bogus Capitola city nonsense rule which was complete b.s. Any venue that serves alcohol and food in California can allow children, teenagers and young adults to enter even if it has a bar attached to it and stay there — as long as they don’t sit in the bar area. I love this intimate space. Enjoyed live music on a Saturday, good wine and delicious food. The 'adult mac and cheese' is a must have. As a lover of the cheesy goodness, I was pleasantly surprised that it was so fantastic! Let's face it, not every establishment makes mac & cheese worthy to be called good.
