I have to preface this by stating that I grew up eating Pizza Hut at least twice a month, every month between the ages of 8 & 16. Until this order, I hadn't ordered from Pizza Hut in over 15 years. Papa John's used to sponsor the Louisiana Zephyrs (later changed to the "Baby Cakes") & every time they'd win, we'd get a 50% off coupon via email, so I mostly ordered from them. When Domino's finally changed their recipes (& introduced their DXP delivery vehicle) we ordered from them a bunch as well.
We just moved to the Carencro area in December. This order was placed for a birthday. I paid $120 for 4 pizzas, cheese bread sticks & a 24-piece boneless chicken wings (which didn't even come with ranch).
All 4 pizzas were supposed to be extra pepperoni, extra cheese, extra sauce. This is (supposed) to combat against places that fail to provide adequate cheese, sauce & toppings for a standard pepperoni pizza. 1 of the 4 literally only had sauce (at all) in a small 2" × 5" crescent shape along the edge of the crust. There was literally no sauce at all anywhere else on the pizza. There was no extra cheese nor pepperoni on that pizza either (I have pictures). The pepperoni was stuck directly to the crust. When peeled, only bread was stuck to the bottom of the pepperoni. Not 1 of the pizzas had extra sauce at all. Only 2 of the 4 had what was an "attempt" at extra cheese.
The pizzas were only lukewarm & the bread sticks were cold when they arrived. I paid for 2 garlic sauces & 2 cheese sauces; the cheese sauces were not given to me at all. The chicken wings were so sad, they're still sitting in the refrigerator (a long with the 2 saddest & majority of the better 2 pizzas). The store made sure to count several whole pieces broken into much smaller pieces (1/3 & 1/2 sizes) as whole pieces themselves. I weighed them. So what we received was exactly 24 individual pieces, some of which were smaller than 1" × ½". It was 21 oz. (including breading & sauce) for $20.99. That's literally $16 per pound, which is good steak prices (even in 2025).
I genuinely thought about pealing off all of the pepperoni, piling up all of the cheese, weighing all of the sauce, laying out the chicken "pieces" (many of which were smaller than McDonald's chicken nuggets) & posting the results to social media to show what $120 buys from Pizza Hut instead of giving any of it to our guests. I ended up making hotdogs for everyone.
There is a very good reason this store (Carencro, LA) has a 3.6 out of 5 * on Google reviews. I just wish I had looked before taking a chance.
Red Baron frozen "Brick oven" pizzas are $4.82 at Walmart right now. For $120 I could have bought 20 (freaking TWENTY!!) pizzas, 2 lbs of mozzarella cheese ($8.24 @ Walmart right now) & a 21 oz. pack of Great Value pepperoni. Next time I plan a pizza party, I will actually go that route instead. Sadly, I would have gotten much better & consistent quality pizzas if I did on this day.
The really sad part is that after placing this order, I just signed up for "Free Delivery" ($25 per month) as I thought we'd be ordering from Pizza Hut regularly. Not only will I not be "visiting" or ordering from this store again, I'll never eat Pizza Hut again.
There is a competency crisis in this country, where customers are repeatedly subjected to the apathy of employees. Employees who are annoyed when someone gives them something to do (their literal job). Your employees & store owners are furthering that crisis with a malignant set of priorities. It's for experiences like this that most of us fully support the inevitable automation that will replace these people. And they want to be paid $20 per hour? How many of them do $20 of...
Read moreThis is a mixed bag for me, around January of 2023 (idk if that date is correct) they got new management -and with that- higher quality and more consistent food. But as the months went by, the quality just kept getting worse and worse. I haven't been here for months, and that's mainly because after about five minutes once the pizza cools, the crust just becomes so tough and generally unpleasant to eat. And their sauce doesn't help either, this is my personal opinion but their regular pizza sauce needs a SERIOUS recipe change. I'll give you a PERFECT example: I love their stuffed crust pizza, I pick it up on a deal for $10-13 ish, the crust itself has a buttery taste added to it and the stuffed cheese is phenomenal. But the rest of the crust that's NOT the edge? It gets cold and tough to chew on like it's literal cardboard. The only thing that hasn't changed is the service, I'm usually greeted by the manager who is super friendly and I love to chat with.
That's why it's a mixed bag for me, almost everything here is awesome. The service, the speed and the pricing is decent, but the food itself has just...
Read moreAbsolutely done with this place this time. Placed a delivery order for pizza and wings, I watched the delivery driver drive around my complex for 20 minutes, called the store phone games were being played, I got hung up on, next thing was to call corporate because I’m still being told my pizza was deliver and it absolutely was not at all. I even flagged the driver down and they continued to drive off. Never again, this was a very unpleasant experience and I often order delivery for my kids because I work nights, I’ve never experienced this before, but this was definitely enough to lose me as a customer, and I utilize the app, I have points I use them, but I would happily relinquish it, the sad thing is that I will have to take time out of my day tomorrow to go to the store to make sure they reverse the charge to my card, because they hung up the phone, if I could leave a negative star I would. This type of place is not worth the business of decent working...
