I had the most difficult time picking up my food! My order was ready on time and beautifully packed and on the pickup shelf. But ultimately I was accused of theft and a fake ID before being allowed to take my food!

As I grabbed the order with my name and phone number on it I was stopped because "they were having problems with stealing." I was asked to produce a door dash order pickup page (this was my personal online order and I don't have DoorDash). When I didn't have my “dasher app” I produced my CA DL which matched the receipt on the bag. I was then told "is this even you!" Frustrated, I asked them to call the number on the receipt (my number). Ultimately i procured the original payment method (my CC) and CA DL and asked for a refund.

The manager ultimately intervened and offered a refund and the free food but feeling embarrassed, profiled and falsely accused I declined and proceeded to place a replacement order on ubereats from the Del Mar location.

Follow up: shake shack did respond and offered 15 dollars off my next meal. I declined. This whole detained and shaken down for proof of ownership is ridiculous. If a drivers license is good enough for TSA it should be good enough for...

Arrived when the website said it was ready, but I guess someone else took my burger. The first gentleman said they were still making it... It never came. I ordered chicken sandwiches while I was there and those came.. but still no burger.

The gentleman at the counter advised they would make me another burger and was unsure of what happened. He asked me if my name was "Kristen" to which I replied "Kristine." And he said he would expedite my order to which I greatly appreciated and thanked him.

10 minutes later there's an order out calling for the name Chris.. and I think it's someone else's order,l since that name is a common male name. I figured they were busy.. but people kept coming and going...I finally confirmed it was the burger I ordered... The gentleman who put in my order for me didn't let me know it was mine and they kept calling the name "Chris."

I was here for well over 30 minutes for very few items, not the time taken before I arrived to order. My burger was too salty ans the chicken sandwiches were not bad, real breast, good thickness.. 1 star for the experience I...
