Arhaus — Local services in Carlsbad

My wife and I recently purchased a new home in Carlsbad and knew we wanted the best furnishings and design we could find. We spoke with several highly-rated interior designers across Southern California and just weren’t receiving designs that we loved. That is, until we began working with Paula Clark (Carlsbad) and Rebecca Scott (La Jolla UTC) at Arhaus. The furniture and decor at Arhaus is absolutely stunning and extremely high quality. Arhaus has free design services, so it’s truly a no-brainer to work directly with them. Fast forward and we have furnished our entire home with Arhaus and refuse to make a single design decision (no matter how large or small) without consulting Paula and Rebecca.

Paula and Rebecca are simply the best designers we’ve ever worked with by a very wide margin. They work quickly and at no point did we ever feel any pressure to purchase anything. Every single idea they presented to us was extremely thoughtful, directly responsive to the style we described and perfect for our home. I routinely pushed Paula and Rebecca to present alternative ideas to ensure we had options, which they gladly did. Every design meeting we had was really fun and the tools Paula and Rebecca were able to leverage to present visualizations of the items in our space was an amazing game changer for us. When it came time to purchase, Paula and Rebecca helped us structure our purchases so that we saved the most money possible (organizing deliveries to minimize deliver fees, etc) and even reached out from time to time to let us know that an item we had ordered but not yet received had subsequently gone on sale and that they were working to help us take advantage of the discount.

We investigated the design services at Restoration Hardware, Pottery Barn, and other higher-end furniture stores and none of them came close to what Paula and Rebecca delivered for us. We are so thankful for everything Paula and Rebecca have done to help us transform our home. When people visit our home for the first time, they always comment on how beautiful the decor is. If you are thinking of buying a new piece of furniture, designing a room, or doing a full home refresh, you should absolutely give Paula Clark and Rebecca Scott a chance to show you their ideas. I ordered 4 items from Arhaus on 10/31. Iwent to the store in person and worked with Yvette. Yvette pushed us towards a couple of items and when asked about the delivery schedule/timeframe we were promised it would take a couple of weeks as the items were in stock. We were ordering seats for our kitchen for the holidays, so getting them quickly was necessary.

After ordering, Yvette told me she would follow up multiple times with us on specific days, however she did not do so. I had to reach out to Arhaus several times, days after she said she would call me with updates, to try and figure out where our order was. After 2 weeks of no information, we were told 3/4 items were delayed. I could not get a clear time frame on the delay.

Eventually Yvette stopped responding and passed me off to the store manager. The store manager was combative and defensive about the lies told to me and made excuses. They told me the items were delayed but they would check in after week. The items ended up being delayed until March 2025. We would never had ordered a set of dining chairs (for our kitchen without chairs) if we knew it would take 5-6 months for them to be delivered. We specifically were told they were in stock and would be there soon.

We ended up having to change our order to get items that were actually in stock but didn’t match exactly as we had planned in the kitchen. They came about 5 weeks after we were told they would arrive.

It felt like Arhaus pushed a sale as quick as possible and was trying to say anything to make the sale, regardless of the truth of the matter. I would not order from this store again, nor would I trust what I was told by the sales associates...

I recently had the most incredible experience at Arhaus, and I can't rave enough about the amazing service my wife and I received from Paula, the design consultant, and Kat, the interior designer. We've been working with Paula for many years now, and every time, she makes us feel welcomed and truly listens to our needs. She takes the time to understand our style and what we’re looking for, ensuring that every piece she shows us aligns with our vision.
