Attentive service and plenty of seating on a Thursday around 5pm. I liked the vintage motorcycle decor. We did have to move tables part way through our meal because as the sun lowered it eventually hit the folks at our table who started getting really hot, but we were able to switch to a shady table easily.
Good variety of menu options. Three of our party got salads (two beet and one arugula/mozzarella, I forget the names) which were large and fresh. One person got the meatball sliders which they enjoyed (really fluffy fresh slider buns and good marinara sauce) with a side of onion rings.
I got the Kobe beef burger and although the flavor and quality were fine, I was extremely frustrated with the dry (probably over)toasted bun that literally disintegrated in my hands before the first bite. From there it was impossible to eat since there was nothing holding it together (and the crispy onion pieces all fell out immediately). I don't know if all the burgers come on the same bun but I wouldn't get one again here. I got the parmesan garlic fry upgrade and was not super impressed by those either. The toppings were fresh and flavorful but the fries were mostly soggy and seemed a little under cooked.
Ultimately it was fun to try somewhere new and would be a Fine place for a drink and dinner with friends due to the relatively large, eclectic menu for a brewery, but if I'm going to spend that much $ on a burger and fries I'm going to Copper Kings to get something I...
Read moreFirst time here. We live in Oceanside and we were meeting a friend in Bressi and this seemed like a great option based on the reviews and photos.
Everything on the menu sounded so good. Here's what we ordered:
Ribeye Burger ($20)
Description shows "habanero jack" but there was nothing spicy about this at all. It has steak sauce on it. The meat tasted great. Bottom bun was a bit soggy and top bun was thin & crispy. Kinda weird. Still tasty. Also ordered Parmesan & Garlic fries (+ $2) - but I would pass on ordered these again. Just not a fan...
Irish Fish & Chips ($18)
One piece of fish. It's ginormous. Fries are big steak fries. Very tasty and I wish I ordered this.
Southern Fried Chicken Sammich ( $16.96)
Our friend ordered it without the sauce which was a terrible idea. It really needed a sauce! Can't review it much because of that, but it sure was crispy.
Mac Daddy Mac & Cheese ($14 + $6 for Chicken)
This was just okay. I LOVE mac n' cheese in general (think Velveeta) but this was not it. There was barely any chicken in it. Noodles were hot like the sun and there just wasn't much "cheesiness" about it. Kinda disappointing.
We had several beers and ciders, all good but we noticed none of our glasses were filled to the top. Kinda feels like we got gypped a bit.
Overall, we really liked this place. Food was good minus a few tiny gripes. We would definitely like to come back and...

Good parts of our visit: Food was good. We had the blackened mahi tacos, which were delicious. Highly recommended. We also had the wagyu burger which was fine, but the selling point of the burger is the beef and any flavor of the beef was overwhelmed by the gruyere and gorgonzola cheese and a ton of arugula: I would recommend getting other burgers and not paying for the wagyu, as the flavor is hidden. The waitstaff. We had Michelle, who was incredibly friendly, knowledgeable about the menu, and overall an excellent server. High marks.
The weaker parts of our visit The wait. We were seated quickly, but after that, service started to really lag. My guess is that they were down a server: there were two for a large space and, for instance, it took 10-15 minutes just to get our check and pay when we were ready to leave. Normal times might not have this issue. The beer. It was...fine. I had a flight for CBC's own beers (a dark lager, a pale ale, an IPA, and a stout). None stood out. For those who aren't fans of current trends in double dry-hopping everything, this place can work, as the beers were all pretty mild, but none of the CBC-specific beer was particularly memorable or noteworthy. That said, they do have a massive beer selection from many different brewers, so this might just be...
