Rubio's Coastal Grill — Restaurant in Carlsbad

I have been ordering from Rubio's for a few years now and the quality has been on the downhill lately. Fish Tacos recently have been having a gross amount of extra breading on them sometimes. I almost always get fish tacos on Tuesday with co-workers or friends from Rubio's.

I ordered food online and picked up in store to then enjoy at home with my roommate. Both our orders were messed up (a first for us at rubios). One of my 3 tacos was made wrong and I asked for the order to be re-made completely since I had let it get cold driving back and forth. Guy at the counter was cool but the manager questioned both of us as if we had made the error. Anyway he only offered to make it right by fixing my one taco. Despite this whole mess up being their fault and a waste of my time. Now I have one amazing taco but 2 that are cold. Before I had 2 amazing tacos but one messed up. I didn't even want to keep the other ones, I just wanted what I ordered originally.

I'll be looking for new Taco Tuesday spot that has better customer service...

Worst Mexican Fast Food - We were traveling and decided to try Rubios on Gateway Road in Carlsbad. We were so disappointed by the food and service. This is not good Mexican fast food. Rubio's is overrated and expensive. You get better food at Taco Bell. The salsa tasted like canned salsa, not fresh. The tortilla chips were awful and the worst we had ever had. Additionally, the order taker was confused and we ended up getting small plates while ordering the larger plates. When ordering, we specifically said we wanted the large taco plates and we ended up getting one taco each. We ordered one of the salads that the order taker said comes with mixed greens. Well, guess what, we got iceberg lettuce that is not mixed greens. Do they know what mixed greens is? Either the good reviews are not legit or Carlsbad and San Diego residents don't know what good Mexican fast food is. We are...

I hate rubios now I always get two chicken tacos and the lady tried to charge me 8.45 and told me they don't give chips ! Also I told her I always pay 6.45 which adds to 7 something with tax and she claims their prices increased when I just checked now and I don't see anything. She messes up my order after repeating what I told her I wanted everything in a chicken taco in the burrito since the other day I got it only for 7.29 and even the lady messed up because she was new and wanted to give me something for free and I didn't want to embarrass her so I said no I am good now this one messes up my order tries to rip me off and doesn't give me what I want twice. Either she was having a bad day or just didn't want to honor my order either way not good. Never had this problem in my 6 years...
