DO NOT BOOK HERE

I don’t typically leave reviews but I’m blown away by how unprofessional the whole experience was with Segovia Meson.

I just want to spare anyone the headache and poor feedback from family and friends if you host a special occasion.

They didn’t restock the food for a buffet of 89 people. We had family members standing and waiting and some didn’t even get certain options. When we asked them to restock a tray of pasta they actually brought out a dinner plate to refill the serving tray. One plate, for one serving tray for a buffet of 89 people We asked to move one chair from a table of 10. The tables hold 12. We were not adding a chair, but simply moving a chair. Everyone is already paid for, we asked to MOVE one guest and they wanted to charge us for that. A server made my wife cry on that day because she had asked to remedy some of these things as they were popping up. This alone is egregious service We ordered a certain package of food they offered. They decide to change the kind of chicken that was offered without telling us Some adults opted for chicken fingers since no other food was available. After paying full price for the real buffet with multiple (adult-style) proteins available, they wanted to charge us for the chicken fingers from the kids menu. They wanted to charge us extra for the individuals that couldn’t get the $70 buffet who were left eating chicken fingers (which is a cheaper option) We paid for soda and most of our guests weren’t aware soda was an option They had 3 servers to serve 89 people. You can imagine how refills went. Not to mention how overwhelmed they were when we pointed out the buffet was empty Once we told them about these things they said they would check the cameras to see if that was the case. We don’t mind because all of what we said will be clear if it was recorded. This is just a mind-blowing response to a paying customer that’s presented many reasons why they weren’t happy They then responded to my wife’s review saying that some of our guests “loved the experience and even returned to dine with them the next day”. That is comically false. Every guest was a direct family member of either me or my wife whom we saw the following day anyway because we were together for Palm Sunday. That was a brilliant lie — feel free to scroll down to see the managers response on my wife’s post. Sure you’ll find it just as ridiculous as we did

They also told my wife on the phone after she was explaining everything that they hope she “emotionally feels better”. No solutions, just hope she “emotionally feels better”.

They also told my wife that “your husband said everything was great”. Hello, I’m the husband here. It was far from great.

I will contact my family and ask all 89 guests to leave their honest review on Google. I’m sure if I leave it up to them they can also relay our concerns for everyone to see.

Segovia in Little Ferry is great. Try anywhere else if you want to enjoy your...

Sadly disappointed. I love Segovia’s, but the locations in Moonachie and Little Ferry. I held a baptism here at the Carlstadt location due to size of the party and I completely regret it. I had a terrible experience yesterday, they are not very accommodating and could not even keep the buffet options full. I had many guests come to tell me things were empty and some even had to stand waiting for food to be brought out. I asked multiple times for food to be refilled and they would come with a small dish and throw the food into the buffet trays- for the price paid you would think they would bring out an entire tray to replace (also because this would be normal to do). People didn’t go up for seconds- including my husband because we felt there wasn’t enough food to begin with and we didn’t want to make the situation worse. Drinks were barely refilled unless asked- no one was told soda was included and half my guests said they were never offered coffee. I urge you, though this place has a nice room with so much potential, the service ( with the exception of one nice gentleman working there) and how the location is run is extremely poor. I hope it was an off day but receiving so much negative feedback from guests is embarrassing when I truly went out of my way to try and pick someplace nice to accommodate my party size and celebrate a beautiful occasion. Again, this is strictly a review for a large party held here. Never again, if you have a smaller party I highly encourage you to choose the other locations.

On a side note- we catered an event from Segovia’s in little ferry last year for the same amount of people and it was flawless! We had more food that day than we did yesterday.

Edit/ UPDATE: Maria, the employee at the front called my husband apparently because the boss asked her too and offered ZERO solution-instead turned it back on us and claimed she “looked at video and saw soda on the table”…this is actually LAUGHABLE. Some customer service. Didn’t make anything right. If they would like I can have my 89 guests write their own review To the boss- feel free to call me directly.

Another update: Nowhere did we ask to take home food. There was minimal food to begin with for my guests DURING the event. Read the review and please check the notes we gave to Maria and also please call me directly as requested. Additionally, we never signed or received a contract and no one chose to dine with you in the TWO days...

One lucky afternoon I was invited to a casual business meeting at this place and the rest is history! I was hooked! The food, OMG!!! The level of service and attention to details are very high. Plus, the fact that the Owner is there elbow-to-elbow with hostesses, servers, bartenders, and cooks like one more member of the staff, overseeing and making sure everyone is getting their expectations exceeded is the cherry on top! He visits every table, every time, and makes very tasteful suggestions of wine pairings or drinks for your food. This last time, it was my Wife's best friend's Birthday so we came early and brought a cake which they took to be refrigerated until dessert time. We were pleasantly greeted, seated, and drinks were offered while waiting for the rest of the party to join. We ordered a few appetizers, which for me are the best part of the experience because you can try a variety of Tapas that will blow your mind! Not that the main courses are less delicious, but I can definitely see myself going there and having a great dinner just off the Tapas (appetizers). My wife was craving a Veal Extremeña (pictured below) but it wasn't on the menu. The right answer was given: "We have the ingredients, so no problem we will make it happen!". It was nice to hear that elusive yet crucial affirmation for us patrons as that paved the way to my repeat business. I ordered a delicious Mariscada with Lobster! The portions were so generous I had to take half back. (No complaints here! lol) The rest of the party ordered Steaks and seafood platters (not on the menu); everyone was very impressed and they also took part of their food home. We really enjoyed this dinner and I definitely know where I would like to be invited for my next birthday just in case someone close to me reads this, haha! I highly recommend this place and here's my secret advice: Try...

I have been reading the great reviews that this place has gotten, unfortunately I have had a terrible lack of food experience there. I attended a meeting there in the month of October and again in November and both times we were left speechless at the portions that were served. An example of my experience: a table with 10 adults they gave us about 20-25 pieces of chorizo, 8 mini empanadas not enough for everyone at the table and when we asked if we could get more the explanation was that it was a gift from the owner!.... well if you’re going to give then by all means give enough for everyone to eat or don’t bother at all!!!! Lastly we were served a personal sized paella for a table of 10. Needless to say I will attend the next meeting and if they’re still giving us those small portions which you have to sort of ration out among all at the table then I will walk out and quit going there, as far as I am concerned unless they start giving out proper amounts of food this place is not worth it. Oh I forgot to mention the bread rolls which were burned black, when we asked for more bread they gave us a different kind of bread that had been cut into quarters ........ really? The worst restaurant that I have eaten at by far. Updated review: I attended another meeting that the organization held there (basically this was our Christmas dinner) the food was subpar and once again ....... well the picture says it all! Oh by the way... I am not going to be intimidated into not posting my honest opinion, if you don’t like it then tell the owner to do better! Lastly I will say this: I attend the meetings and do pay a fee for the food, I do expect a good and plentiful meal. I don’t drink so my opinions are not given while under the influence when you tend to lose your taste buds and rate the place by the amount of liquor in your system.
