I am sitting in Dagny’s as I type this. I was looking for a place to eat in the area, and googled what was close. I checked out the website and thought it would be a cool place to give a try.
I walked in, and I loved the walk to the counter. It’s a super chill place, not a ton of chatter everywhere and the most welcoming person behind the counter. Turns out, she is the owner!
She was in the middle of something, but didn’t skip a beat saying hello and asking if I knew what I wanted. Most places, you experience the person continuing to do their task and they may or may not interact with you until they are finished. It was refreshing.
While they were out of coffee, she recommended I go next store to grab a cup while she made my food! What?! That’s nuts to me, but very much appreciated! What other place, to make sure you get everything you are looking for, recommends another place for an item?! This one! And the way she said it was perfect. “Why don’t you go grab a cup while I make your food for you”. Again, all while making someone else’s food.
As I sit here reading my book, her daughter is studying near me and occasionally pops back to help her ma with something. Another refreshing thing - her daughter doesn’t complain. Not even a little bit. They are a great duo.
Oh, and the music. Oldies. And, I’m telling you - all the goodies. I sat down and Whitney Houston came on. For sure brought back good memories. Well, played. Very well played, ma’am. And the music is just loud enough. Nothing to distract me from reading or making others talk louder so they could hear one another.
Each person that walked in was greeted in a friendly way. And, I loved her goodbye to everyone. “I’ll see ya later!” The woman may not have known everyone, I am not sure, but it sure made all of the interactions friendly and warm.
I knew I needed some “me” time, and I’m happy I was led here. It was perfect. Thanks for making my day, and I recommend anyone...

Tldr: You should definitely stop in for a bite to eat... Treat yourself, you deserve it!
The lady who served us was very nice and welcoming. She may have been the owner, Dagny.
The food is excellent and well priced. It's easy to tell they take pride in their menu and ingredients. Their website says "simple food, elevated." Spot on. So many things looked good, that it was difficult to pick from their various offerings.
As far as atmosphere... it's a little breakfast/lunch spot. It's bright and very clean, there's one table inside and a couple outside. My friend did comment that she loved the decor.
I ordered The Ray sandwich, and it was loaded with meats, about 1" thick in the middle. Honestly quite impressive, especially these days when food costs are very high. The tomato-pepperocini relish is brilliant. Very tasty with a bit of olive oil/basalmic in it. I wish I had asked for a bit more, it was that good.
I ordered my sandwich cold out of habit. Normally it's pressed on their panini press. In hind sight probably should have had it pressed, as it likely would have made the sandwich more compact and this easier to eat. My fault, noted for next time. While I knew it'd be good by the ingredients, but had no idea it'd be that good. Well done, Dagny's. Well done.
To be fair I'm a bit of a foodie, and love finding places with delicious food. I especially appreciate local eateries run by the owner. It's the American dream, and I fully believe in that.
I know I'll be back to try more of Dagny's delicious things. Or maybe another The Ray "sammie." I'm still thinking about it...
Read moreI had a pretty rough experience here. I was surprised it was so highly reviewed. There was a woman and her two kids running the shop and she was underwater and I saw things I didn’t like when I was there.
Waited over 15-20 min for a couple breakfast sandwiches she was making street side and ended up canceling them because it was taking too long. Had trouble getting our money back because her kids didn’t know how to do the refund, but he got it back. The kids were also arguing with each other pretty badly and the boy said he was going to k*ll the girl while staring her down. It was actually pretty unsettling. They didn’t have any coffee at that time. We ordered a cinnamon roll to go. The cinnamon roll was just okay, tasted pretty floury and the icing wasn’t the best quality. The other thing about the atmosphere was raw meat stored in fridges with items for sale at the front of the store, as well as random things like cups and other paper products stored around the front of the shop. Anyone could have tampered with that meat and it was kind of a mess in there.
We went next door to the other coffee shop there and had a much better experience and despite to me being very busy, the line went fast and we got our food...
