The Oven Restaurant & Lounge — Restaurant in Caro

We went last night for dinner was a girls night. We both ordered the Cod dinner which comes with the salad bar. So we each had a small tossed salad. Soups didn't look appetizing. We got our fish ( little bigger than nuggets) had the first piece was tough but ate it. Andrea bites into second piece the look on her face changes as she is now trying not to throw up and she is trying not to let me see her gaging as I have a sensitive gag reflex and would be throwing up also. When I ask what's wrong she shows me the piece of fish she bite into had hairy mold on it. Now we both are trying not to throw up. Waitress comes over Andrea shows her takes it and apologized. I don't want to eat mine for fear it's moldy, when I tell Waitress this she has me cut mind up looking for mold. Didn't see any but sent my plate with as her could eat it after all that. She comes back and tells us she took off the fish dinner from our bill and just charged us for salad bar....ha ha.... she charged us each $10.99 !!!!! Now we each had maybe a cup of lettus , a small dinner salad as we wanted Cod fish not salad. So we paid $22 plus for our 2 little dinner salads left a tip and both left still hungry and gaging all the way home. I will not be...

My dad wrote a review on here also he's divinejustice (btw horrible name) The staff where all pleasant as always! But my fish I had ordered had mold on it. I didn't notice until I ate a piece I looked at him and said this doesn't taste right I flipped it over, and it had spots of hairy mold on it. I didn't say anything to the staff, because I didn't want to make a scene, and I really just wanted to leave due to me quickly becoming nauseous. We live in town less than 3 minutes away as soon as I made it through the door I ran into the bathroom and started puking so hard I was crying. No cap 🧢 I puked in the bathroom for over an hour, its really dangerous to serve food like that. I wasn't going to write a review because I have been here before and never had this issue, but I saw the owners response to my dad's review and I just wanted to let you know that you claim you don't "serve mold on your food" but that's a lie there is more than one review on here that speaks of mold specifically on the fish. Bad experience started when the server asked if we wanted an appetizer "maybe a spin dip?" And i almost walked out. (I know, not everybody is bothered by that, but it drives me insane. It's spinach artichoke dip, not spin dip, and I'm not your short order cook.) Then i waited for my Stromboli long enough for my wife and son, who got the buffet, to both finish eating (at least 3-4 full plates of food for my son, for those keeping score at home). On the upside, i was assured by our server on a couple of occasions that my "strom" was almost up. Yes, I was standing up with my coat in hand at that one. Food was just OK. Could barely taste the garlic that the menu said was in top. Then to add insult to injury we were charged twice for my son's pop. It was quickly fixed, but while we waited we overheard the table next to us point out to their server that they had been overcharged, as well. I guess the lesson is to get the buffet and check your bill very carefully before you pay it. Not sure if we're giving it a second chance in the...
