An absolutely awesome experience every time I come here. As a novice of the culinary/baking arts, I was awe-astounded the first time I entered and saw a giant strudel (At least, I believe that to be the vaguely canoe-shaped item on the top rack). Sticking closer to home, the triangular shaped donut (Le "Triangle" or the "Dorito" donut) is certainly the magnum opus of its creator. The true star of the show, however, is the incredible staff. They are extraordinarily sweet and courteous, and make each visit a pleasure!
Update 4/27/24: Still a five stars, just editing this to express my appreciation of Sauer's and their lovely staff/owners! It's quite fitting that they have a bakery, because they are all quite sweet!

The middle aged lady serving me was very anxious to get my stuff packed up and kept on insisting on how many and what I needed. She was huffing and puffing behind the counter. Must have got off the wrong side of the bed!! I did not have a moments time to look at the wonderful pastries and bakery items.    Read moreExtremely rude staff. I asked the staff to cut 3 coffee cakes in piecut for me for a large group. Instead of being appreciative of my purchase. They complained about slicing them after the fact. They should've just said we don't slice them. It wasn't even busy at the time. I was the only one there when I asked and one other person walked in after. There were 3 staff. She scolded me and said if I can't cut them myself in the future, I should buy individual pastries. Such poor customer service. They made my experience if trying to do something nice for my staff a bad one. It doesnt matter if a product is good or not, if you don't appreciate your customers eventually you...
