Oh my gaaaawwwwd. I was blown away by this place. Delicious coffee, check. Good breakfast? No! AMAZING BREAKFAST, CHECK! I highly recommend trying things off the seasonal menu, both food and drinks! I bought that waffle and it was sent straight from heaven. It was so amazing. I also got some sort of avocado toast for my mom. It came with spinach, a fresh egg and a balsamic drizzle. She said it was fantastic and I could tell because she ate it before I could even take a picture! I also tried two seasonal lattes, Vanilla cardamom and French Toast. The French toast was phenomenal, out of this world, I want to drink that every day of my life. I'm going back for another. Or three. The vanilla cardamom was great too, more subtle and a more of the mature side of drinks. I have a sweet tooth though so that French toast hit the spot. All this with a 2 person crew by the way! Insane props to the two ladies running that shop this morning. I know I couldn't do that. I have my hands full just cooking the breakfast where I work at, I couldn't imagine cooking, taking orders, and making coffee all at the same time. They...

The place is always busy but the orders are taken rather quickly. We decided to wait inside, right by the area with the hanging chair. When my latte was ready, I looked at it upon picking it up and it made me smile, there was a heart created with the milk. After tasting it I felt happy. It was as if someone had given me a hug I never knew I needed. Yes! Believe me, it was that good. I just felt immensely happy sip after sip.

I had ordered different items for my family and they were all delicious. But I ordered the “Up Stream” for me. It was heavenly! I couldn’t stop smiling, my family even noticed. Happiness and gratitude just took over me. For the next three days, we were there again. And each time the customer service was incredible. Those lattes and that “up stream”, I’m telling you, they really are that anazing. I was saddened when we had to leave town, as we were just visiting. But believe me, next time I’m in Carolina Beach, I’ll definitely be at Malama.

If you want clean, delicious food, stop by. You may leave just like I did —...

From the moment I walked in a few weeks ago for the first time, to today for the second time, it’s been the most energizing vibe, and the best food and drinks to feed that energy. Natalie and the owner create an instant rapport with the customer and talk about the food, and make the food, with pure love and passion. And the ice tea they make for me rocks my world. The breakfast type sandwiches are the best on the island. Different, drop dead delish, and you’re ready to tackle whatever faces you that day. And the prices are simply great for the sandwiches, which are top quality and unique and classic. Yum!

The girls up front present choices transparently and with pure love, and want you to feel the same way. Bottom line: great energy inside or outside, with luminous staff who are as top notch as the amazing food,

Thanks for the instant personal/customer connection. It cuts both ways. And you have the food and the prices and the grace and charm of the ladies up front to insure my devotion to the Malama....

I have gotten Poke bowls and smoothie bowls from here with are good but it’s been a couple years since coming here and the last time I came I got the Malama smash and it was terrible, don’t recommend getting this at all. No flavor and they cut a hard boiled egg and just stick it on there like that’s edible that way instead of slicing it. Kinda seems like it’s something thrown together without taste testing it. On top of that it cost $8.50 for one piece of toast, I got gluten free which ups it I think a dollar but that’s expensive regardless for one piece of toast. At least give customers two pieces for the cost. The coffee was good but not hot at all, I'm pretty sensitive and don’t like anything too hot but even I had to microwave it when I got home. Other food I’ve had has been great but don’t get the malama toast.

Malama in Hawaii means “take care” and you certainly get that feel visiting this airy, bright cafe. Coffee, smoothies and a healthy breakfast and lunch menu. From the rise and shine croissant with its warm egg and bacon, cheese, fresh spinach on a toasted croissant. To the açaí bowls with fresh strawberry, milk, almond granola, coconut flakes, açaí and topped with blueberries, bananas and honey. One can relax and savor what is not only healthy for the body, but brings solace to the mind. The staff, LeeAnn, were very friendly and added to the tranquil feel of the place.
