Nice little old hotel right on the beach and close enough to walk to food, boardwalk, etc. We parked car and did not move it all weekend. New owners have fixed it up, very cute, new fixtures, furniture, flooring they did alot of cosmetic remodeling/painting If you're traveling with little kids or if you want quiet place this isn't it. There is the Sea Witch cafe/bar across street and bands play until 12, you can sit outside in your rocking chairs and enjoy the music, you can also hear it inside room. The bathroom sink in our room was clogged, maintenance came out next day to fix. We watched Thursday night fireworks from upper deck, can be seen from pool too No smoking inside, now no smoking outside?!? I do not understand why a person can't sit outside the hotel room, paid for and smoke, why do you expect people to walk to a smoking area? Especially at night who wants to get up and walk across the parking lot at night. I'm not a smoker I'm just an American who still believes in freedom and when I see this no smoking bullshit it drives me crazy I understand no smoking in the rooms but not being able to sit outside in the nice rocking chairs in night breeze and enjoy a cigarette if you want in America I'll never understand I watched an elderly lady have to walk down two flights of steps and over to that bench at your pool every time she wanted to smoke and then walk back up steps even at night that's...
Read moreWe stayed here for two days the week after Labor Day and took advantage of the lower rates and |quieter atmosphere. Neither the beach nor local restaurants were crowded, and the weather was perfect. If you appreciate the ambience of a quiet, old school beach motel combined with updated rooms, a pool, and easy parking, you will love this place. If you want a balcony overlooking the ocean and the amenities of a generic chain hotel, maybe this isn’t the place for you. The rooms are small but incredibly efficiently and attractively designed, almost like a cabin on a ship, but we managed to find room for our dog’s bed. The king bed was exceptionally comfortable, and the bathroom, while small was elegantly designed with plenty of storage space. The rocking-chair porch (they called it a balcony) had a nice breeze and contributed to the old school charm of the place. If this sounds appealing, I would recommend it highly. In contrast to the old time feel, the on-line check-in and check-out was easy and efficient. Even though no human was present on the premises, they answered any text questions promptly and were helpful in suggesting local restaurants. All in all, a really...
Read moreAdorable and super clean. It’s brand new so that is to be expected. We had a great experience. My only advice to fellow travelers is - if noise bothers you don’t book a room on the street side. The Sea Witch Tiki Bar & Grill is right across the street and live bands play until midnight. This didn’t bother us and we enjoyed the people watching. ||There was some confusion about the pet fee. We brought our two small dogs. There is a pop up on their home page that says $35 pet fee per night (up to 2 dogs). Then when I went to check out it said $45 per fee per night (up to 2 dogs). Then when I received a text confirmation and I had to fill out some things.. the pet fee was $45 per dog per night ! That was an extra $180 and I think that is excessive. ||I called and spoke to a human and told her they need to make it more clear on the site. I went ahead and booked it anyway, but won’t return if bringing my fur babies. ||It’s in a great location, has a great little dog park, a nice pool, a deck for everyone with a view, check in was simple. It’s steps from the beach and the boardwalk is literally...
