As entry we ate Cheese Fondo with guava, and chorizo which was also delicious. My wife had their margarita ofnthe house very very delicious. We also ate a dessert called churros witha ball of vanilla ice cream and dulce leche also very delicilious, I mean everything was execellent. Read moreI’ve been to Híjole several times because the food is usually delicious and the service consistently solid it’s one of my go to spots for good Mexican flavors in a casual setting.
However, there are a couple of things that really need attention. First, the condition of the seating is unacceptable the chairs and booths are filthy. It’s uncomfortable to sit and even more uncomfortable to imagine how the less visible areas, like the kitchen, are being maintained if the dining area is left like that.

I still think Híjole has a lot to offer, and I’m sharing this feedback in hopes that management takes it seriously. The food is great but cleanliness and maintenance are just as important if they want people to keep...
Read moreThe place is really nice. The young staff was really good and pleasent. The decor was also nice but now comes the record scratch......As I begin by ordering my favorite mainstream mexican beer I was greeted with a bar menu that didn't include it. I see a favorite on the menu so I play it safe and go with it. That was most definitely not Al pastor.... it was the equivalent of a gas station burrito. I asked for a burrito and received a burito the size of an enchilada or the size of my fork....still can't get the taste of what I can only compare with sweet Ragu out of my mouth. I got a teacup with 11 house tortilla chips for 2, while the customer across from me who was alone, got a bowl, not sure what that was about. If you want to feed your eyes, this place is beautiful, but I have to be honest when I say I would have gotten a better value at Taco Bell.....I did still leave my tip as the service was...
