I have been here twice in last month and both times I was here during lunch. Looks like they are just setting up their shop and adopting.
Good part: The service was really good, reception was good make you feel like they care about you and the whole ambiance of restaurant dining area and ordering area is really well set.
They have large selection of menu items like South Indian meals, thali , breakfast items and combos etc along with Indo Chinese options and some speciality biryanis. Their irani chai also was considerably good vs ones from Swadeshi or Desi District which have more sugary taste.
Areas of development: Both times I have been here I order an item and I will be waiting for my order. Then someone comes from kitchen and say hey we don’t have the item or our machinery is not working can we give you something else. This is not great especially bc they are not fully prepared to offer what they have said on the menu.
I order veg Manchurian and they couldn’t make it at the moment so I was offered gobi Manchurian. Gobi Manchurian is 7/10
I asked for paneer tikka pulav and they come back with regular paneer pulav and it tastes like watery rice with spiced paneer. Taste 4/10 not worth the money.
I hope that I had a better experience and I wish them good luck on...
Read moreThis place is downright nasty. Every single table was dirty when i walked in, i had to clean with tissues to be able to barely occupy one. Found a piece of thread in the idly, hair on the dosa, medu wada was cold and hard, when i asked the guy about freshness he said it was made in the morning for BF buffet, which was 5-6 hours ago, they have no shame in serving such cold food for an item that needs to be made to order., Idly was cold and old, sambar serving is a joke, so tiny. When i told the guy if you cant make fresh medu vada, dont give me any. They threw existing vada in oil, making it even harder, and further inedible. At this point i just wanted a refund and walk out. If you cant make fresh food, stop serving it after a certain time. Overall food taste was below average and nothing special. Guy handling food, pouring chutneys and sambhar is not wearing a hairnet, pet state law, anyone handling and serving food should be wearing a hairnet. . It’s only a matter of time health department shuts this place down. Dont even want to imagine hygiene status in the kitchen. It was a fool of me to drive to this place from coppell area. No need for anyone to go here when there great options around. My bad for...
Read moreWent for the breakfast buffet on Sunday. The food was standard South Indian fare, by which I mean a cross between kannadiga, telegu and tamilian. Buffet had different types of mini dosas, idli, puri, vada, baats, chutneys, sambar etc. And at $11 per person, unlimited, it is a good deal. Quality is not in the league as a Saravana bhavan, but then neither are the prices, so it's fair.
But here's the problem. Except for idli, most of the trays were empty most of the time. You would be standing in line waiting for food to be replenished, and the second it comes, everyone pounces, and blink and it's all over once again. I don't know if this was because we went on a Sunday morning, or whether this is how they control food portions/consumption, or they are genuinely short staffed, it made the experience terribly frustrating and unappealing. And tea/coffee is extra. I just wish they would increase prices and make it a more enjoyable and comprehensive experience.
The atmosphere is typical cafe/mess hall. It's supposed to be self service, but read the paragraph...
