New management? Not sure what has changed in the last couple of months but one of my go-to places for lunch or dinner is quickly becoming a place I'm more apt to avoid.
This location used to deliver great quality, fresh and tasty pizzas with super friendly and sociable staff. It was always clean and just fun to be in, no matter what time we went. Tonight, however, I was sad to see the place a complete mess, with the majority of the tables covered in filth, the dirty plate area full, and spills on the floor being ignored. It was to the point that I had to grab a rag from their sanitizer bucket and clean a table myself, despite the place having two other patrons and 3 or 4 employees milling about. All of this is forgivable if it's busy or soon after a rush but the place was deserted, the crud on the table I cleaned dried on and taking a bit of scrubbing to get off and the pizzas on the bar that I tried being hard as rock. Couple that with the music in the dining area competing with the music blaring from the kitchen to see which could drown out the other and we had a rather dismal experience.
I've worked in many different restaurants in many different positions over the years that I worked food service and this was just ghastly. Who ever the manager or leader on duty was should be ashamed to have so much potential wasted due to what can only be laziness. That is if they have ANY pride in what they do.
Addendum My girlfriend and I ended up staying for a out 45 minutes, mostly due to having to wait for fresh pizza. During this time, we saw multiple employees, including one who I assume was the manager based on his gray shirt, come into the lobby to get drinks or brownies, some stepping over a spill on the ground or walking right by the near overflowing dirty plate area. Not a single one so much as glanced at the filth around them. Through the entire 45 minutes, never did I see an employee wipe down a table, sweep the floor, mop up a spill, or even just push in a chair. One of the other customers even went so far as to grab a wet floor sign for one of the bigger spills before he walked out, only to have it never be acknowledged by anyone...
Read moreWe took our daughter out to Cici's for a special dinner as a reward for her excellence in school. I have to say that, while we do not visit Cici's on a regular basis, this is by far the most deplorable experience we have ever had at any of their establishments.
The salad bar, if it could be called that, offered sad, wilted, lettuce with over half of the bins for the accompaniments empty of their contents. There were three jugs designated for ranch dressing, two of which were empty, the third with only drops remaining. The pasta bar had an abundance of noodles, albeit hard from continued exposure, and no pasta sauce to speak of. Luckily, we did not necessarily come for the sad lettuces or the uninspiring pasta. We came tonight because our daughter wanted to enjoy their pizza. It is almost unbelievable that our experience could be any more dismal, yet, here I continue.
With all of the current advertisements boasting about their assortments of pizzas, I would have expected the pizza buffet to be full and inviting. Once again, I was left in disappointment. There were more empty spaces than pizzas. This would have been understandable had the restraunt been at all busy. However, with it being just after 6pm on a random Wednesday, this just wasn't the case. There was no obvious reason as to the lack of offerings which I suppose would then point to a mismanagement of sorts or a glaring lack of care.
To end it off, imagine our disappointment in having to wait for someone to stock the deserts. Of the two deserts customarily offered (brownies and cinnamon rolls), neither one was available. We sat, waiting, for no less that 15 additional minutes in the unfounded hope that fresh deserts would be made. At the 20-minute mark, fed up, beyond disappointed and verging on anger, we vacated our table, choosing instead to purchase our sweets elsewhere.
Needless to say, we will NOT be...
Read moreIve been seeing the 5 dollar tuesdays coupon for a while, but the negative reviews on this place dissuade me. today was tuesday, and it was pretty early during the day, so i decided to try it. since most of the reviews have to do with the busy times and i went at 1 pm when people are at work and kids are in school. so the place was relatively empty. with the coupon it was 5 bucks but after drink and taxes it was 8.50 Here is my review: the place was VERY CLEAN, spotless actually. the restrooms were also clean, and smelled fresh.
the salad bar had fresh salad, with plenty of options although i was sad to not see bacon bits in there. also, i dont remember seeing any soup.
when i got there, the pizza options were limited and they looked like theyve been sitting there for a while, probably bc the place wasnt too busy. but i saw a lady filling a pizza request form, then i filled one , then someone else filled another one.
I was suprised to see that all 3 pizzas were ready super fast. when they served them, people inmediately came to grab pizza, which wasnt an issue but i can see that being an issue when the place is packed.
the pizza wasnt the best pizza ive tasted but it hasnt declined in quality either. you go to cicis for cheap pizza not for the best pizza.
the sodas were also pretty good for a buffet. nowadays most buffets have really watered down sodas, and that wasnt the case here.
overall, i felt like I got my money's worth. I ate until i was completely full. I was so full that i didnt get to eat any desserts.
I would not recommend going on a busy day. that place can fit A TON of people, and that might be the issue that people complaint about, it might get more people than it can handle.
but i do see myself coming...
