I drove 1 hour to and from my house to visit The Human Bean! Coffee sounded good, so I checked around Google and found this coffee shop and wanted to give it a try since the photos look wonderful.
Unfortunately, I’m disappointed with the drink I ordered. I went with the Java Chip frappuccino. When I took my first sip, it tasted like water: extremely bland, no flavor whatsoever. The only thing I could strongly taste was the mocha drizzle around the cup. I returned back and told them this and the employee working register was so so sweet and offered to remake it for me. I felt so bad I even had to come back and make them do extra work.
The second try around, nothing change. It still tasted bland and it was like sipping water. The employee with red hair (god bless your soul…if she sees this, please know I am so sorry and feel terrible for inconveniencing y’all)! 😔
The employee was so damn kind. The drink ended up being remade 3 extra times. The last round, the employee said they could add extra mocha sauce to sweeten up the drink. While it did taste better than the first time, it still was not sweet enough. I ended up just saying that the drink was good and left because I didn’t feel like burdening anyone again and cut my losses. I see other customer reviews on here saying their drinks tasted like water, so I’m not the only one.

Read moreEDIT LAZY STAFF, & they lied: Coming back to edit this previous review. Thought we would start trying it again because maybe they had gotten better- nope. This morning they told my fiancé (moments ago) there was cream in my coffee when he asked. No cream. Tasted it and it’s DISGUSTING and super dark. Laziest staff ever.
I usually give this place 5 stars, HOWEVER, lately it’s going down hill. My fiancé asked them for an “Irish Cream Breve” for their lattes and they gave him A CUP OF ONLY CREAM on ICE. I can’t even make this up. It’s a cup of pure cream.
Update: I wanted to clarify a few things. I used to be a daily customer. I came in every morning before work for about 3 months then as my morning coffee orders started getting consistently incorrect, I stopped going unless it was the weekend and did that for about another 3 months. During this time, I have gone in countless times early right around opening and the coffee has been absolutely dreadful. Incorrect order after incorrect order. No cream. No syrups. Always forgetting my add in flavor I request. Or just the absolute wrong thing entirely.
So to have my order be THIS wrong this morning- I’m just done with this place. Really sad because I chose this over Starbucks after being a loyal Starbucks patron for 15 years. Guess it’s back to finding a good...

Then again, it is more my fault for giving them so many chances and then continue to be surprised when they make the same mistakes over and over. Regardless of whether or not you go in person, or like I have, order through Grubhub etc, your order will be wrong. It’s really a shame because the coffee/breakfast is very good quality, but the random roll of whether your order is wrong or not is just not worth it anymore. Me and my fiancé vowed a couple months ago to never go through the drive-through anymore because of the countless terrible experiences we have had with the drive-through staff just not being able to grasp what our order was. Ordering seemed safer since they would actually have a printed copy of the order in their hand to look at. Unfortunately our last three orders in row ordering have also been wrong.
