The place looks nice outside but its deceiving inside. I step in there and realized I had to order right away and also pay right away with a tip box in plain sight. I wanted a veggie omelette with added protein like turkey or chicken preferably. Well they ran out of chicken and had only pork. So I stuck with a veggie omelette. Then I went and found a seat. So much time pass by that I began to wonder. So I started tuning in and then thats when it hit me, the I dont want to take crap from an unprofessional employees, because thats what I began to hear. There literally laughing so hard in the kitchen. So I gave it some more time. Then when I looked around and only a couple glancing over the menu seated I was what is thats taking so long. Its clearly no busy at all just me who ordered over 20 minutes ago. I even washed my hands and caught up several news articles. This place was not up to standards if they showed some care for customers they sure was NOT about the customer. Finally I walked up to the register and requested my money back. The young nice European man was unaware of why I wanted my money back I didnt want to explain that their cooking crew and other employees were creating an atmosphere that was about loud socializing at the expense of a reviewer like me. The manager was not alerted also why I was bothered by what I saw here play out. NEVER...
Read moreWe recently moved to the area and we decided to try this place for a late morning breakfast. We ordered our meal and after payment with a credit card we were told that the espresso machine wasn't working and then only refunded us for one of the two espressos we had ordered. Our meal arrived and the eggs were delicious but the bacon and sausage tasted like it was fresh from the microwave. My boyfriend's waffle came out hot and crispy and at that time I asked about my English muffin. At this point I had finished my eggs, bacon and sausage and was told that they don't have English muffins (even though it was on the menu and the order taker didn't inform me that they didn't have then) so I traded it for a biscuit that also tasted fresh from the microwave. Since the eggs were so nicely cooked I figured they have a flat top and it would have been nice to have the biscuit toasted rather than nuked. Our grits were piping hot, and not in a good way, it was like they had made a special trip from the surface of the sun. In addition to being insanely hot they hadn't been salted while cooking and just had no flavor. We didn't try any of the donuts, but for a full meal I wouldn't...
Read moreI'm actually really a fan of this place! The outside looks a bit crummy, and the inside isn't much better, but man, can they cook a good breakfast! And I wasn't even expecting it because I thought it was JUST a donut shop... nope! They've got a great menu with great selections. And the portion sizes are just right.
I had waffles, breakfast taco, and bacon/eggs. They were all delish. Really great, filling (but not TOO filling) food!
The service is always genuinely grand as well. The guy who works there is a bit talkative at times, but he's nice. And the couple, I guess owners, are always super friendly and helpful.
So anyway, the place doesn't just have donuts. They have a full breakfast menu that isn't too shabby. I'd say if you want something cheap, good tasting, and easy, give it a shot.
The only downfall (subtract one star) is that they don't have good coffee. It was like Folger's or something... or that could just be me being a coffee...
