Jack's Family Restaurant — Restaurant in Carrollton

It takes years to cultivate a good & loyal clientele & seconds to lose them with complacent staff.

I have been to many other Jack's restaurants and tonight this one is a total disappointment. I've been here before and was far better hygiene & service. I came in about 9:15pm they don't close until 10:00 p.m. and they're in their busy cleaning and scrubbing. (Which is good, but the cook is nowhere to be found) the people that were cleaning and scrubbing were probably the cooks etc and apparently everybody is ordering chicken, mashed potatoes and green beans as that's all the other ladies were dishing up.

Does no one want a burger or chicken sandwich? The whole time that I am there no one is cooking anything or preparing anything. And I certainly don't want people that have been handling mops and mop water and all this crap shoving it around the floor with a squeegee preparing any food for me, so the only thing I got was a large French fry. Even the fry area was a mess. Old cold fries off on the side of fry area like they scooped them hurriedly in a haphazard manner.

In my opinion they start cleaning up entirely too soon. This is totally ridiculous. Lost sales due to poor management. And moreover, the COOK should NEVER be the one cleaning. Obviously you don't want to mix cleaning solvents etc with someone's food. For the same reason that you don't want the cashier handling money and food . Plus many people that wear gloves don't realize that the only thing they're protecting is themselves from everything that they have touched in the place because they wear the gloves for like 3 hours or some inordinate amount of time (far too long) and they have just cross-contaminated everything in the kitchen. I see this at restaurants that I work in and I'm sure it goes on here as well unfortunately. Ugh In these POST COVID TIMES.... people SHOULD and I repeat SHOULD have a much heightened sense of hygiene but...

So today I went to Jack's and wanted to try their fried Green Tomatoes. I had been several times in the past few weeks. Because everytime I went they said they were out of them. No matter what time I went by. So today I ordered my food and then asked about the fried green Tomatoes and they said they no longer have them. But right above the order mic was a advertisement for them. I pulled around to pay and asked them just to make sure. So your no longer going to have the friedgreen Tomatoes. The young guy said no we won't. I said will you still have a sign advertising them at the order board. So you may want to remove it. He said we don't have time for that. I said well I have been coming by lately to get them but you seem to always be out of them. His reply was I can't do anything about that.

I just decided to not say anything else because they obviously don't care to take down the advertisement but also don't realize that when a customer ask you something or makes a suggestion that you don't know what to do with. It's simple you tell your manager so he will know about it. Then if the manager does not know how to take down a past due advertisement then the restaurant needs to replace some of the people working there. It's not hard to...

Edit from 09/19/2023 Dumb me figured I give them another chance & went & got some breakfast through the drive-thru & of course the lady made me pull up to the door & they wasn't even busy all I ordered was a smoked sausage biscuits regular hashbrown & a big breakfast sandwich with extra bacon which all should be ready rightaway but no I had to pull up just to get a big breakfast sandwich with untoasted toast wth cant even do that right, toast bread. This was really the last time for me Jacks is dead to me now

Friendly staff and tasty but don't think they make the burgers fresh mine was cold

Edit: Don't go thru the drive-thru here they will mess up your order everytime just sloppy. Dinning in is ok but the drive thru horrible & kinda my fault because I should've checked my order rightaway but me thinking they'll do their job right & trusting them, got me a burger I order with no pickles, completely plain just patties & cheese & the apple pie wasn't in the bag at all.
