Growing up Port of Subs was always a popular choice in my family... i remember when the original owners ran the restaurant, the service was always excellent.. the prices were not that expensive (was 7-15 years ago) and what i got on a sandwich would blow me away... however, the port of subs now a days isnt really good in any aspect. I come in for lunch almost every day, and there is always the same 3 people working.. The owner, and two young women. When the toppings are being put on my sandwich, i have noticed that the owner will whisper something in the employees ears, then the employee picks off the toppings... i pay $7-$10 for a sandwich, and if i dont pay for double meat or double cheese, then im getting a thin layer of meat and cheese, another thin layer of toppings, and a whole LOT of bread. Thanks! A friend of mine worked here about 5 years ago, she would often complain about the same horrible things:
No day offs (so what if she only worked 3 hours a day, she would constantly be pushed, even though she had babies at home ) The owners would require her to be available, yet it would be so hard to give her a day off.. yet, the owners WOULD always get at least ONE day off! She would have to SPLIT tips with the Owners: yep, you heard me, she once told me that every shift worked, she would have to split the total tips with the owners (Husband and Wife) and when she did work there, one of the owners cousins was employed as well! (Thats not fair, the owners should NOT get tips)
Another thing that really bothers me is that i come in during the middle of the lunch rush... i feel that i am FORCED to hurry, and not get the proper time to make my sandwich... when it is my turn to order, the Indian Gentleman takes my order and before the bread is even sliced, he is taking the persons order behind me! (His wife is by far the worst however, i have came into the restaurant, and she has taken my order, she DEMANDS my order, and she rushes to make the sandwich, she plops the meat on top of the bread and passes the sandwich to the next employee. After I had paid and was getting my drink i heard the lady embarrass the employee in front of customers, instead of taking her in the back of the store, the lady sits down on the GROUND, kind of where the side of the register is, and tells the employee that she needs to be faster!!!!!! Why?! She made my sandwich pretty fast. And to be honest, the way your "slow" employee made my sandwich was AMAZING, so many yummy toppings, it actually made the $10 i spent worth it!!!!!
I have held my tongue long enough. Its ridiculous what these workers put up with. Im messaging Port of Subs Corporation...
Read moreSo the two Port of Subs here in town are owned by brothers. I personally like this port of Subs allot better. The food tastes fresher and not as old. The service is okay.. when you are telling the workers your order, it kind of feels like they are rushing you.... But man, the prices are absolutely ridiculous!!!! For a large sandwich its like $10, a medium is $8, small is 7... If you want extra meat, you have to pay $3.50 more. They are very skimpy on their toppings... (I worked at this location and I used to get in big trouble for adding alot of...
Read moreThis place has a very efficient assembly line system during peak hours. I must have been there for only a few minutes, and they completed about 6 orders within that time span. You had one person cutting up the meat, another person handling the bread and toppings, and finally, someone handling the shakers and chash register. Like everyone knew their role and grinded through a bunch of orders. I know this review may seem silly, but in this day and age where customer service has taken a toll, I'm actually really impressed, and they deserve a...
