We once upon a time visited as a family when we wanted steaks. It’s the ONLY thing the place is good for, not hard to salt steaks. Everything else is BLAND. But we would ignore it and salt our sides/dishes we ordered. One night I decided to try a soup and salad. Soup was blah and I just spooned at it while awaiting our main course. Over an hour later, asking for the main course multiple times, the owner FINALLY brings our food out. I lost my appetite by this point and let him know. He brought out my salad ORDERING ME TO EAT THE FOOD! Yelling at me that I HAD TO EAT THE SALAD in front of the entire establishment, my family, my children. This man was screaming at me that it was my fault the order took so long bc they were waiting for me to finish my soup? OKAY!?!?! What?!?! Take responsibility and accountability that you cannot run your establishment. I sat in tears as my children awkwardly ate their steaks, I left before everyone could finish their meals as I could not stop crying from anger and embarrassment. I haven’t returned, we never will. They lost pretty regular customers (about once a month) I still wonder why we ever ate there, just pure convenience. I finally tried Santini, AND THAT IS THE PLACE TO GO!!!!!! Every item on the menu is tasty, delicious, and worth every penny. Not to mention STAFF IS WARM AND INVITING A HUGE PLUS! Avoid this place at all costs. It needs to close down and be replaced with something flavorful. I’m waiting for the day. It’s also worth mentioning how uncomfortable the owner always made my little girl. Constantly touching her, she’s always been vocal asking not to touch her and he can’t seem to catch the hint, I had to tell him a few times not to touch her. Horrible, inattentive service. Place is outdated and looks like an old basement turned into a dining area. Food, meh. Prepared well but small portions. Chateau Madrid is better on all counts. Now for the SCAM: Dinner for 2. I ordered the surf and turf for $38.00. You literally get a 2oz piece of meat (cheap filet? SMALL) and maybe a 3oz tail, some good homemade chips, saffron rice and some veggies consisting of 4 pieces of sliced carrot and 4 green beans and the rest was sautéed cabbage as a filler. Who the f… wants cabbage??? CHEAP! Fast forward to the bill: They charge a “4%” FEE on top of the meal. FOR WHAT? This was BEFORE I even took any form of payment out of my pocket! The 4% is actually equivalent to 4.26%.of the food and beverage price. Then, they calculate the automatic “20%” tip (mind you only 2 people at this table) with the 4.26% FEE included. It gets better….the tip is actually equivalent to 20.45%. The tax was the only thing that was calculated correctly/with the correct % on the food and beverage amount only. The best part is, on their receipt they have a “suggested ADDITIONAL tip” perhaps if you think the cabbage was extraordinaire! This place is a dirty scam. This place was the absolute worst experience I’ve ever had in my life let’s start off with the service extremely horrible two people that looked like managers just sitting in the back wandering around look like lost souls wow two younger gentleman are awaiting the tables with no help from the other two just standing there looking clueless then a female looked like another manager kept popping in and out of the kitchen I was making it quite obvious that I was upset and I was becoming impatient after about 15 minutes waiting for my food it was a new place I just moved in town I was hoping it was the score when my meal had arrived The chicken was still frozen in the middle very watery just a complete and up most grotesque thing I’ve seen the soda was flat and it sat on the edge of my table immediately after I was served it everyone walked past it and I put it all the way to the edge to make it noticeable for someone’s attention and still nothing I left immediately all I wanted to do was grab my check pay the tab and leave if I were them I would be ashamed to be serving that food to those older people if they only knew…… Long story short I do not recommend this to anyone stay far away definitely not...
