Chuck Wagon Restaurant — Restaurant in Carthage

This place is not an expensive nice restaurant but it is a friendly nice restaurant. It's restricted and dining area are kept clean and stocked. All the staff and all the customers (for the most part) are ask friendly and helpful. This place has been here since my dad was a kid, although then it was in the other side of the road, and when i was a kid it wasn't an eat in place just a building with one window to walk up to and order and another window to pick up from. Now its upgraded and you can eat inside or outside. The prices are amazingly low especially costs to everywhere else. My household has 9 people and we can all order burgers/hotdogs , fries and a drink for under $45. And the food had tested the same as far back as i can remember. And it's pretty good. Its a small hometown kind of place to not only eat but to make memories, which i made with my grandpa and father and now with my own kids. Its nice to see and smell and go to somewhere familiar in a world that's constantly changing and new. To me, chuck wagon and Carthage go together and i don't think you can really think of Carthage as not having achuck wagon its been a part of the town so long it's definitely going to be sad if it ever...

The food was Awesome!! I am in Love with their double bacon cheeseburger with lettuce and tomato! Only reason I am giving them a 4 star and not 5 is because they forgot to give me my corn dog 😩 I did place a big order but I was really looking forward to my corn dog . Lol But all the food was so good. I ordered 3 double bacon cheeseburgers, french fries, cheese fries, fried pickles, frontier fries. I'm not real in to barbecue but felt like a risk taker this afternoon... if you're in to tangier barbecue than the frontier fries are for you! The original fries were my favorite! The cheese fries were good but the cheese gets pretty dry quickly if that makes sense.. it's good but not wet.?? Hard to explain. It was my first time having fried pickles and they weren't bad at all. I'm not the biggest fan of pickles already but these were pretty goodl! They have a slight kick to them too, which I enjoyed! Horrible service, horrible staff, horrible food. Gave this place a try again after 10 years cause of the horrible experience then and remembered why I stopped going there. Ordered from the window (can only order 6 items at the window) hotdogs with chili, mustard onion and onion rings. Was told to pull around back and wait, at the door where all the trash was piled up, was delivered the food by a person with pants sagged down to his knees and another lady walked out wearing pajama pants that was working in there, was handed the food and told it was hotdogs with ketchup, mustard and onions, said no it was chili, was shown the ticket where a k was written so they assumed ketchup since apparently the person taking the order thinks chili starts with a k. Took it anyways and got it home to eat the worst tasting hotdogs ever, cold in the middle, and onion rings tasted like they were cooked in old grease. Cheap food yes, so guess I got what I paid for but definitely won't give them...
