First China Restaurant — Restaurant in Cary

Oh gosh, what's there to say about a strip mall Chinese restaurant but it's not as simple as it sounds! In my opinion, there is still quite a bit of variation even if the insides and menu's may look the same. And I really had to look in the Cary area near my office to find a decent one, right now First China is it!

For lunch I've done their specials at about $6 and their egg foo young is also excellent. The portion size for price is good and their service is pretty darn quick. Just watch out for their location, it's VERY hard to see unless you're looking for it. They're located in the corner of the plaza and you can't see the sign coming in from the majority of entrances. Just keep on going until you see their small storefront.

Tried this place because of the good reviews. LIES!!! Ordered General Tso's chicken and requested it to be extra extra spicy. Food was barely warm, had ZERO spice and pretty much no flavor except for being overly sweet. The "meat" was mostly batter, chewy and tasted of old oil. Did they try to re-fry old chicken or was their oil just overdue for a change? I don't know, but the food was not good at all. I had to toss it. Pork eggroll was a little more edible, but soft and on the chewy side. It did not smell of old oil like the General Tso's, but maybe the eggroll was old too? I ordered chicken wings and fries I saw they had wings already cooked sitting out I asked for fresh wings to be cooked, the lady had an attitude I wanted the food freshly cooked. I stood watching her to make sure she was doing as I asked she kept telling me to sit down so I could not see what she was doing. After she put fresh wings in the oil I sat down because I have trouble standing. When I got the wings and looked at them they were not freshly cooked, they were old.
