Salvio's Pizzeria — Restaurant in Cary

I’m giving them 2 stars because the food was...okay. The service, however, was HORRIBLE. I waited almost an hour for a lukewarm, overpriced and not so great meal.

After ordering my food online, I showed up to the restaurant 30 mins later as instructed. I left my car running with my pregnant wife inside so she wouldn’t have to walk. When I walked in, it took me a few minutes to be helped, it did appear the shop was running behind. When I spoke to the lady at cashier a few minutes later, I was told that my order was the next one out. She told me it would be brought out to me when it was ready, so I took a seat and waited.

Twenty-five minutes later and several additional patrons later, I overhear one woman who walked in 15 mins after me ask about her order. She was told “it was the next order coming out”. As I listened to another employee take an order on the phone, I then overhear “give us about 45 minutes please”. At this point, it had been 55 minutes since I placed my order. When I inquired again about my order, the lady asked about my order (she did not acknowledge how long I waited, and had no clue what my order was) and magic, there it was sitting on the shelf. I was given my food, suspecting my order had been ready for some time and I had not been alerted.

I live literally 2 mins away. Not to my surprise, when I got home my food was barely warm. To recap, I waited an hour for my food, paid $30 for a 14” pizza and cheese sticks and was rewarded with cold, not so great food. After many years as a loyal customer, we just ordered our last pizza from Salvio’s. Despite the wonderful food, I will not do business with an establishment that can not make a fair adjustment to correct a mistake and try to satisfy the customer.

A recent order took over 2-1/2 hours to be delivered after being told it would be 45-60 minutes when the order was placed. While our family and guest were waiting for food we made multiple calls to Salvio’s and were told our order was “on the way”, then “it just left the store”, and finally after more than 2 hours, they claimed our order “was already delivered”.

I understand contactless delivery and would expect a doorbell to be rung or call made to verify the delivery was made, so after checking our back and front doors we were disappointed to find no food had been delivered. Another call to Salvio’s was made and I was told they could remake the order. When I asked for a discount due to their mistakes and for our trouble waiting for so long, I was told by the employee that it was their policy to not give any credits or discounts and they would only remake orders when a mistake is made.

I felt this employee must have been mistaken and decided to place another order a few weeks later, this time for pickup. I wanted to visit the restaurant in person to verify their policy and was told Salvio’s management will not give discounts, even when they make a mistake and will only offer to replace orders. I think this is a really bad business practice, so they don’t have to worry about replacing any orders from me in the future. You would think premium prices would warrant better...

First and last time coming here!!! The place is morbid filled with bad attitude and lackluster care for any customer. Waited an hour for my pizza I finally get it of course in true fashion of a place like this they gave me what I didn’t order or tricked me into thinking I ordered something I didn’t, I ordered a “Roni cup pepperoni pizza that is shown on their own website as a square, I got a circle, when I asked I was told oh that’s a Sicilian, I told them it doesn’t mention that on there just “Roni cup” the kid at the counter was very confused as if he never saw the online menu, I asked for a manager, the most grimace one of them which is the own came with the same lackluster look and attitude he had when I walked in. I asked him why I got a round pie instead of a square like what’s on the website, he looks me dead in my face and says I don’t have any pepperoni pizza that’s a square, as if the kid didn’t just say they had a Sicilian and I didn’t see it myself on his website, went into his own website and showed him he had a square pie to which he replied “oh yea that a Sicilian”. I asked him where the circle pie that said Roni cup was and he said I had to specify I wanted a Sicilian, even though they don’t mention that on their website or even give the circle pie as a separate option. Not one apology for their screw up not one bit of acknowledgment of how deceiving their website is not one bit of humility and remorse. Terrible place terrible experience mediocre pizza and service.
